Rendezvous IV - San Antonio, TX - May 20-24, 2009

You do Lost Wages for R5 I don't know about Cubby, but I know my butt would be planted in the casino. :D
Speaking of which Madam I am sure Cubby and I will be planning on a trip this year to there, we do love gambling. We will let you know so you can meet us there. What you think about that? :D:wave:;)
I think my butt would be planted right next to yours!

I wish we could buy those clear tear off sheets that NASCAR uses on their windshield every time they come into the pits for the drive through Texas. Now there's something for an entrepreneur. A clear spray that can be peeled off the bumper too, but not that $600 dollar item that we where going to use last year.

I actually bought something for RIII, but never used it. I'm thinking of trying it for the SA trip. I just need to find out how tough it is to remove once we get back home. I'll have to search and let you know where and how much I paid if you are interested. If I remember correctly, Floyd might have bought it also, but I could be wrong.

Are you talking about the clear film that you apply with the soapy water? We bought 2 kits in anticipation of using them for R3 .... haven't used either one ... we bought it to avoid pebbles and bugs. We still have them .... somewhere?!?!

Correcto, Cubby! Good memory!!

I watched at least three on-line movies on how to apply the stuff, but it didn't help! I got so frustrated with the stuff I crumpled it up and threw it away!! Got back from RIII without a mark (that I could see). And it looked so easy in the training films!

I'm gonna give it a try for RIV. I may end up doing the same--my patience with stuff isn't very good. Tried window tinting long ago and decided to let the 'pros' do it.

I bought some Bugs B Gone Concentrate that goes in the windshield washer. Directions say add 2 oz per full washer reservoir... purchased at O'Reilly Auto Parts, cost was $3.00 for 8oz. Haven't tried the concentrate yet, but the ready to use product available in gallons works great, but it's not to put in the washer reservoir.

RainX on all my windows

RainX on the windshield doesn't let anything stick to it. Everything seems to wash for effortlessly.

I agree 100%, have been using RainX for years and the bugs just about slide right off. I find it also improves vision. Starting yesterday I don't have to worry about driving, we are once more getting dumped on and it will probably keep it up until noon tomorrow. Sure wish Spring would make up it's mind. We had hail yesterday, one newscaster said it was the size of a nickle, glad my vehicles were both inside.

Now that sounds like something I might try and also spray it on bumper, lights, grill and back of mirrors.
We have a new member who is our mobile detailer (Detailer) He will be post a thread and put up some prices and he will be set up Tuesday afternoon for early birds and will be there every day through Saturday from 7:00 till dusk, except for Thursday. Everyone will either be on the loop trip who will be back late in the evening or floating around town, so I figured he could use a day off on Thursday and we shouldn't need his services . He did say the bugs are bad that time of year so anything like RainX would help him remove the bugs without injuring our finishes. Even power washers can be tough on paint and chrome.

Rain X

It's done............bought it and applied it to the windshield as well as the back of mirrors and the whole front end. Took me all of 10 minutes. Now we shall see.
'Have never heard of that .... I guess we'll be making a Pep Boy's run this weekend ...:willy_nilly: Great info ... thank's Cubby.

Wow.... I am so disappointed .... I got a PM from Dallas Doll and her husband Joe who have been hoping against hope that work wouldn't interfer with their R4 trip .... but it has. Pam, I know how badly you want to come and meet and be with us .... we will miss you ... and as you ask ... we will have a Margarita (or 2) for you!

Other disappointing news is that LinSue will not be able to fly in as she wanted to .... :bawling: .... we wish you wll LS ...
Same with PD and Mswaim .... PD will be in a recovery mode at that time ... good luck, PD ....

Pam, I wish you could come in later Friday afternoon/evening. You're soooo close. You would have a great time with Ruth Ann.....and those of us from the Midwest have a lot of fun together. I hope you will reconsider. (We'll have a Margarita waiting for you!)

Just arrived home and thought I better post before someone else does the same thing as Bobo did to his car. DO NOT APPLY RAINX TO ANY OF THE PAINTED FINISH ON YOUR CARS. It will eat the paint. My last stop for the morning was at the detail shop for Red Noland Cadillac. Eric, the shop manager told me to have a bottle of 409 and a micro fiber cloth with me on the trip and when ever I stop to spray the bugs with the 409 and wipe them off with the micro fibre cloth. 409 will not harm the finish on the car. Rainx is a petroleum based product and it will eat right thru the clear coat and the paint. It tells you in the directions on the bottle not to get it on any painted surface. First Robin
