Rendezvous IV - San Antonio, TX - May 20-24, 2009

We are soooooooo ready for San Antonio!
Set your DVRs for the TODAY SHOW next Monday, May 4th. They are starting a vacation series and the first one is SAN ANTONIO. If we can't find something useful at least it will help psych us up for the trip. (Like we need any help!) George

You guys will have to get George to do his version of "Stand by your man", it was a big hit on Saturday night.

But it's like Ruthie found online. Kragen Auto has this product. ($5.95) I'll bring it with me for anyone who wants George to wash their car. Just have to put the gel on the area that has the most bugs and it washes off very easy with no hard abrasive sponges, and won't hurt the clar coast or take the wax off either. Ask me, I'll share...........unless I'm running out.:D
If you have a Checker Auto Parts store they carry it and they are the suppliers for Kragen. Cost $5.95

San Antonio Run Dates

Saw Vic Morris at the dealership this morning and he told me he is doubtful he and Trudy will be able to make RIV the way things are looking for them. I am still in hopes they will drive on down from Kansas City.

Well .... hurray and hallelujah! It is just a 3 week wait until R4! The MM's will hardly be recovered and off we all go to Texas! :rocker:
It is getting soooo close to R4. This MM will be ready to go. Looking forward to seeing everyone. :D:beerchug:

Not the same product as this - http://www.rainx.com/Tips_Informatio...ar_Shield.aspx

The one you found is a Bug & Tar Pre-wash gel... the product in the link above is a Buf & Tar Protective Shield... that you spray on, it dries and does the same as the windshield product.

Nope ... no updates ....
I'm a little concerned that we haven't heard from a few of our members lately .... like Darrel .... (SilverX) .... I hope they are reading and things are going good for them.

Rain-X

Found the Rain-X bug and tar repellant yesterday at Pep Boys for about $3.00. It says to spray on anything but the windshield and washes off with just water. Says it will last for about 3 weeks unless it rains on it and can be reapplied as needed. It also says that if the vehicle is waxed it may not work as well??? I guess that means it won't stick as well. As soon as it quits raining here I am going to try it on my my work vans for a few days to see how well it works and comes off. I will keep everyone informed before we put on our babies .

Thanks Marc, but my Pep Boys doesn't carry it. Darn, they have so much stuff on the shelves that maybe I'm missing it.

The tax season is over at last. I am back!

Some of you know that I run a nationwide tax & accounting business (that is why I have over 200,000 miles on my XLR) and finally the tax season is over. Imagine 17 employees asking me to review all their tax returns everyday for the last 11 weeks. Kind of drains you! I am a very active CEO but thank heavens I can start thinking about San Antonio. I'll be back on line in the evenings and am looking forward (really looking forward) to party.
See you all very soon (less than 3 weeks)
Henry / Professor:)

200,000 miles! Yikes!!! There is hope for me to own one afterall. Is it still running ok? I figure eventually I'll end up getting one. I've had the opportunity to drive a customers and I was just smiling ear to ear. :D

Stephen .... that's how we feel EVERYTIME we get behind the wheel ... it's been a couple of years now and the feeling never goes away.
This is the greatest time ever for you to get one ... it would be great to see you arrive in one when you come to R4!

Professor! Glad you're back online again ... we were all wondering just where you were! Hey.... you were the brains behind SA :worship: We are looking forward to seeing you and Pat too ... :party

Ruthie,:blinzel:
Jay and I are going to leave on Monday morning also. What you said about an eleven hour trip makes a lot of sense. We can leave at a decent time on Monday morning. We are going to stay in Tuscon, maybe we could meet up with Kent and others on Tuesday morning.
Who do we have driving into Las Cruses Tuesday morning and where we going to meet..............Old age..........I forgot.

Okay .... great idea ... let's get our Las Cruces count ....
1. Kent
2. Jean
3. Jim
4. Ruth Ann & Ray
5. JP & Joanne
6. Robert
7. Rod/Cindy
8. Bob & J

Help me out here guys .... :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

I'm pretty sure we are leaving Monday too. We still haven't quite worked out the house-sitter details, or where we will call it a night ... we may meet up with some friends ... heck, I don't know ... I'm still trying to decide which suitcase to take! :spin:

It basically is a good running car. I have to bring the car in tomorrow to install new front wheel bearings. Considering that I have driven over 200,000 miles and this will be the first time to change the bearings, I guess I can't complain. I own a DTS and two Escalades but when I drive the XLR, my friends say that I am in my "celebrity" car!!!

.....Yes I am glad to be back too. My wife and I will be arriving Wednesday afternoon on the 20th. Looking forward to seeing the Blue Bunnies and the future Blue Bunnies. I'll give more details in a day or two.
.....I wish I could meet you all in Las Cruces, NM. It is a great town. That is my hangout when I visit my Western Clients in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. I usually stay at the Best Western Mission Inn on Main Street for a week at a time.
