I'm suffering from "the XLR effect" today - nice, sunny, cool breeze, just need to go to the neighborhood grocery up the street and I'm taking the LONGGGGG way! :rocker:

Well with all this construction going on here in the st Augustine/Jacksonville fl area. There has been many accidents. So the traffic is horrible. Especially with today's big rain storms. But on the good side I got a free car wash today. Thanks to Mother Nature.

We really enjoyed our drive from Va. Beach down to the Outer Banks. A very pleasant drive and great weather!

A great view out the windshield and in the rear view mirror :thumbsup

:chuckle Guess I'm glad Va. Beach traffic was so memorable! Really tried to keep you guys out of it ...

My long way today was a bit more scenic than a sea of bumpers & brake lights since I live nowhere close to the Beach - & don't try to get close from Memorial Day until Labor Day. Need a lot of :drink:to deal with all those crowds!

Just dropped the top and Wendy & I drove into to Hanover to pickup a few items, went through the drive thru to grab a quick dinner at Taco Bell, back into the corner spot and there this SUV parked about 3 spaces up, and after a bit we hear this young boys voices from the passengers side opens his door yells over the hood hey sir what kind of car is that, I said Cadillac XLR, awe thought so thx, 2 minutes later hey sir another question is that a 2 seater that turn into 4 seats or just 2, I said just 2, then in about 2-3 minutes again, hey sir what year is that? a new one, I said 2005, awe really we thought it like brand new or at least a 2014! (I guess he was on break because he went back into Taco Bell and the SUV left)
WE REALLY DIDN'T MIND AT ALL! MATTER OF FACT WE LOVED IT!
Drove over and picked up the other few items then stop by Bruster's got some ice cream and just brought Roxy home topless @ around 10 pm and it's still 78 degrees!
Roxy & good ole summer time weather!

Yeah well my day started having the top up because of rain. (Got a much needed free car wash. Saw a couple wreaks on 95 (due to slick roads) Then ending at Taco Bell and topless. Now I need to find a gas station tomorrow for some fuel. Luckily I have the gas buddy app and surching for gas is now easier. Mid 70's here in Florida. Took my time running errands. Going in and out of the neighborhoods around here to take in the beauty of Sunday drives.

Summer cruise to Flagler beach
Just got a message from one of my car guy members. They are planing a summer cruise to Flagler beach Florida at a local waterfront eatery.
Here is the info. Of course it's only for Florida people unless someone is traveling down to north Florida east coast in early July.

Mark Laszlo has finalized the details for the mid-summer cruise. The event will be held on Saturday, July 18th. We will be cruising to Martin’s Restaurant in Flagler Beach. The restaurant is on the Ocean with plenty of paved parking and oceanfront seating. We will meet in the parking area behind the PDQ Chicken restaurant near the intersection of Racetrac Road and SR 13, just as we did in February. Please be there no later than 9:45 am. Also, as he did in February, Mark will have directions available for all participants.
Different from the February event, we are asking for a $5 per car registration fee as a fund raiser to be paid at the event.
Mark needs a headcount from the clubs of members that will be participating so the restaurant can make certain that they are ready and staffed for us. Please contact Mark with your numbers no later than next month’s meeting, July 7th. Please contact him at (904) 534-9928 with counts and/or questions.

Drove over to Columbus Cars and Coffee. Great place to see a bunch of nice cars. Parked next to a couple of CTS V's. Turns out one of the owners used to work for Cadillac. He mentioned that while he worked for Cadillac, he got to drive XLR 0001. He said that it started with a credit card?? The far CTS is a Black Diamond Edition with Ricaro seats and Black Diamond paint. image.jpg

Crimson Pearl and Bob W

I entered my 66 GTO into my favorite local car show Saturday, June 13, 2015.

A couple that are friends of ours brought his Mustang and her XLR.

Fellow forum member Bob W brought his XLR as well.

All the money raised at this show goes to a good cause, so I brought Crimson Pearl.

Both Bob W and Crimson Pearl won "Top 25" Plaques!

By the way, my GTO won "Most Original". This is covered in a different thread :

Well a couple weeks ago I ordered some rubber tech custom car floor mats. Today I had them installed. Since I have a adaptive driving aid I had to have the floor mat custom cut around the pedal. I first tried to get a 2nd mat. But since our cars are no longer produced. I had to figure something else out. This is like weather tech but since weather tech couldn't make them. I went with another similar line. 2 piece hexo mat. And this company has the mats with the cars factory grumets. Here is the finished drivers side ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434669608.193641.jpg

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's out there. Enjoy the day with family and remember our Dad's that are no longer with us. They are/were the Greatest Generation.

10 years ago today we had the 1st XLR trip to Bowling Green, KY. We drove from Indianapolis to BG where we toured the BGAP & watched XLRs being assembled. It was a fun trip & we made friendships that continue to this day.

Well it's been so hot down here in Florida, I haven't dare put the top down. So guess what I did since I was really bored. I l put down my custom Xlr tiles(I had extra from my garage floor) and then I dropped the top in the driveway. Put down my display tiles and here they are.
