When you have the beach, you occasionally get hurricanes, though I'm closer to the mountains.

As far as tornadoes are concerned, you must be confusing us with Alabama.

I lived in AZ back in 1983. Winter was nice, summer was brutal. If you weren't parked in the shade, you could be roasted alive.

Don't know if you noticed, but we both have the same year XLRs in that beautiful Crimson Pearl!

Rather than engage in the weather battle, I have this plea instead:

Dear people of the Midwest & Canada,

While we appreciate your generosity, please stop sharing your below freezing temperatures and biting winds with us. If we need some of that we'll come visit! :blinzel:

Love,
People of the Mid-Atlantic & points farther south

Better yet I think will come visit you [emoji41][emoji106]

I thought Daily Chat was an open forum and we could discuss whatever we want too. I guess I was wrong?

Well I guess I'll change the subject around. I just ordered my caliper paint. So on or around the 23 and 24th I will drop off my car at the dealership. One of the service guys that have don't this to his car and other xlr's will be doing my calipers. We talked and he will take the whole assembly off, paint each caliper one at a time. While the paint is drying he will do his regular duties at the shop. He will also polish and shine up the xlr lettering on the front calipers. Then before his reinstalls the wheel and tire and whole assembly. He will bleed the brake lines and put everything back like it was, except the calipers will have a cleaner look.

will be posting pics as soon as it's completed

Don't think you want to now, Dan! - we've got ice over top of snow now & it's not going anywhere any time soon because lows are in the single digits the next couple of days. Plus no one here knows how to drive in it.

Try visiting in May! :thumbsup

You're just too funny Amy you know we live north of you so were just in the same boat if you know what I mean it's ugly up here more snow coming through tonight with just a quick clip of maybe an inch or two but then the weekend they are calling for more possibly snow then changing over to rain but then Monday and Tuesday back to the freezer with highs of 24 degrees, but patiently waiting for spring! ;-)

Due to floridas dropping temps the next couple days. I have made precautions for my ride tank toped off, top up and batter tender plugged in. I also wanted to dibble check the tender anyway before I left for my 2 month voyage next yr.
so this is a great time to test it out

This tickled me. As we were entering California, all traffic has to go through the "Inspection Station" on I-40. As I approached the place to stop, with my window open, the inspector from the next lane over yelled to the inspector in my lane, "That's a Corvette with class!"

:thumbsup

I had a big grin on my face as I got waved through.

We always have a concern at these stations, definitely NOT because we're doing anything shady, :angelbut because of the crazy pot laws in Colorado. Many of the cars with CO plates are being given extra close scrutiny at these stations, just because of the easy access Colorado residents now have to pot. I guess LEOs figure that a lot of CO residents would be tempted to make a ton of money by loading up the trunk w/ marijuana, driving to another state and selling it. Couple the CO plates with a ritzy looking car (like the XLR...) and a guy with a beard, and it's an open invitation to chat with the inspector for a bit. ;)

Not this trip, however. They just made my day.

Made your day...just how much did you make that day with that load in your trunk?:laugh:

Don't know if this is technical or just daily chat worthy. I'm thinking of painting my fuse box cover and touch up some black areas under the hood areas. I found a black caliper paint can I had for my calipers. But since I'm going with a different color and forgot where I put the receipt, I thought I'd see here if this would stand up to the heat of the engine area.
