I heard from my cousin, Alan this week - he says you guys are actually COLDER than Chicago. I walk Skye every morning and evening... it was about 15 last night - I'm thinking around 10 this morning. BBRRRRRRR. Some people have "normal" dogs that don't like the cold - their paws get cold (so their owners have to put little "booties" on them :chuckle)... but not Skye - he LOVES the cold and snow. Its the -5 with wind chill that really makes it rough.

I think I'm going to have to break out the SKI PANTS for my morning and evening walks with him.

Stay warm everyone! :rocker:

Little "pink" booties on them. :chuckle Samantha likes the cold I don't. She knows she can go out and play just I'm not going out with her.

Nasty weekend weather

I hope everyone up North is doing OK with the nasty winter weather. It is heading our way next. Stay warm & be safe.

The rain has stopped falling and the winds are now gusting to 45MPH. Means the snow starting at midnight will be blowing sideways. I still have nightmares of the white out conditions at that little school for wayward boys (now girls too) on the side of the mountain in Colorado Springs.

BoysTown?

USAFA aka in my day U-Suffer

 You're very funny! As you know this group was there this year during grad week .... we got a chance to roam the grounds ..... MIGHTY IMPRESSIVE. Also very windy .... almost knocked us over going up the stairs to the chapel (s) ......... Colorado has very interesting weather .... all 4 season's before noon.

I saw the weather news on GMA this morning, I pray all my friends in the midwest survive this latest attack by mother nature. It was 17 here this morning with clear skies which equates to a warm day, upper 50's, maybe. We have gotten used to our weather people not always telling the truth. Should say most of the time not always being truthful Stay inside, stay warm, the sun will come out and melt that white stuff that is coming down outside your windows.

All it did here yesterday all day was rain, still had the snow left on the ground though. Today started snowing around 8:30 this morning, just the little snow though not big flakes. Us Midwest people don't let this keep you in, this is a challenge for us. Haha.
For those of you that know her, Samantha has been out all morning playing in the snow. Coat and pink boots on! :chuckle

We been hearing on the news that the Midwest is going tto get hit hard with a storm. Today its 78 degrees tomorrow 82 degrees which is unusal fot this time of year. We are loving it been running around with the top down. Hope all goes well for those of you getting caught up in what i guess is your first major winter storm this season.

The front part of this strong storm system just brough mostly rain, as Supa said... the snow started up north, by me around 2 or 3 am, after the rain started freezing. Not too much snow - enough to have to get the snowblower out before church.

Took Skye for an afternoon walk - it was in the mid 20's - but with 40+ mph winds, the windchill brought down to about 9. We are supposed to get below zero Monday night. BBBbbrrrrrrrr.

The back side of this system is bringing the frigid temps. We're just staying warm and cozy inside (except when I take Skye out for his walk... why can't HE get cold too?).

It's 10:00PM here and still 40.5. Supposed to be 48 tomorrow and Tuesday... probably beat that.

Perfect top down day today. Left home at ten this morning, returned at three thirty this afternoon, top down all day. Tomorrow may be a repeat and then Wednesday is supposed to turn wicked.

Winter blast

I just spoke with Whit, & he said they just got hit with almost 20" of fresh lake effect snow. Most of the roads in Northern IN are closed due to drifting snow or are down to one lane. The strong winds have snapped power poles near their house. Todd said Laporte, IN was all but closed down today by the snow & winds. Michigan City is bracing for another 16" of snow tonight with single digit temps.:rocker:

Is it spring yet?

Shiloh, IL (a mile or two east of me) made the national news documenting the icy conditions on I-64 yesterday. They showed 5 or 6 car/SUVs sliding off the road not far from me. Its unfortunate that the interstate is that bad 24hours after the snow stops falling.

LaPorte has gotten another 5-6 inches since I spoke to Bruce earlier this evening. If the snow keeps falling - may have to install a supercharger on the snow blower.

You mean you DO have a device that isn't supercharged? :pat: I just assumed... :chuckle

Be safe out there ... sounds like you guys are getting it pretty bad.

So how well does that traction control work on the ZR1 with this kind of snow?

We got another 4" of snow over night. The roads were pretty bad this morning. We are lucky, we don't have the winds today to cause the drifting. We have more snow predicted for this weekend.
