National Corvette Homecoming 7/14-7/16/11

Sign up for golf

I spoke with my web master tonight, and he lost me somewhere in the conversation, but he has to leave the sign up sheet the way it is. We will pair you that morning.
Looking forward to seeing all of you guys in July.Hope to get several more signed up for golf, and for the show.

Really miffed that I cant attend. :bash: We are attending the Syracuse Nationals, we are already registered an had the hotel booked months back to attend with some friends: I would love to get to meet you all at the Homecoming, we could have brought our 67 Vette too! Crap :pat: Crap :pat: Crap :pat:

It appears that the Homecoming is Thursday, Friday & Saturday, not Sunday too? (Sunday would be my only hope, I'm at a conference in Montreal until Thursday night)

Pre Registered

I have pre registered for the homecoming and now find I will not be able to attend. When I paid for the registration I was aware that if I cancelled I would not get a refund. If there is someone that has not registered and wants in on the special events that early pre registration provides you might contact me with a pm and see if you would be allowed to use my registration.

Sorry to hear you aren't able to make the trip... going to miss you!! The gathering won't be the same without you, FR!!!

new members

It would be nice to see our new members join the group in Bowling Green in July. It will be a lot of fun!

Thanks Rod for the kind words, I debated for several weeks and finally decided my priority right now is to get the clutter packed in this house and moved to AZ. May wind up moving everything, still have to make up my mind about that.

I attended RIII in Bowling Green in 2008 and toured the factory so having already done that the only real thing I will be missing is spending time with the good friends I have made on this forum. I still have two more trips this year I have to decide if I want to do or not, both back to Illinois, the first one August 6th multiple class reunion and the second October 2nd for the family reunion. If I wasn't a 17 year old trapped in a 77 year old body I would probably not hesitate about any of them, just jump in the car and drive.

FR Sorry to hear you will not be in BG. June and I were looking forward to visiting with you again. If we fly down to AZ next winter we will have to get together then.

Thanks my Kanuk friend, I will look forward to seeing you and June in AZ.

Sandy, it's too bad you guys won't be able to join the fun in Bowling Green. It would have been nice to get to meet you both.

My post was moved to a different area .... about a month after we made reservations for BG we found out that we were going to be grandparents for, I'm sure, the last time mid-June .... we found out that the mommy is going to have to have a C-section for sure, so since I am the only family member who does not "work" .... (retirement is more work that work) ... I am going to be chasing a big brother 3-yr-old, and helping to take care of mom & new babe for about 4-6 weeks while she is getting back on her feet. We, originally thought we could make it - and I went ahead and made plans to go - but I would be miserable thinking that I bailed on her way too soon. Bowling Green is a long drive from here ....

We would like to do another trip that is closer to San Diego ... hopefully there will be an event closer this way that will draw many people to - I've always thought that a trip to AZ in January, would be fun and maybe incorporate a visit to the world famous Barret-Jackson Auction and drive all the cars into The Pavillion's car show one night http://www.rockandrollcarshow.com/ What a rush.

AZ has so much to offer ... there's a couple of Proving Grounds .... or long desert straight-aways to play on with the XLR's, the best winter weather in the world ... it's BEAUTIFUL ..... think Sedona http://www.visitsedona.com/ ... the Grand Canyon .... A MILLION GOLF COURSES .... casinos ... Indian influence ...... ]

Well .... I can dream ... ;)

Anyway - It would have been an AWESOME trip for us to go to Bowling Green for the NCH - I know we would have had a great time - it would have been our 3rd trip there and everyone has been GREAT. You all will have a wonderful time - there is not better group than the XLR group ....

So ... maybe next time!

dash plaques,hat pins and T-shirts

I'm working on getting the dash plaques for The Homecoming. I'm also looking into a hat pin and an event T-shirt like the ones we had done for the Carolinas Trip in April. I will post info when I hear back from our dash plaque guy, Jim.

WOOHOO! Guess what showed up in my mail today!

My invitation to "A Touch Of Class" meet and greet!

I'll be in Bowling Green for the next few days for a conference. I plan on visiting the museum this week. I wish I could make it for the National Homecoming, but I'll be in Little Cayman that whole weekend.

My car really wants to go if you guys will pick it up on your way

We got ours today too ... :bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling:

Mine came in the mail today, since I was there in 2008 I don't mind at all not being there in July. Would have enjoyed visiting with friends I made in 2008 but our paths will cross again and probably at such a time and place we can have quality time together.:wave::wave:

Mine came!!!! I was getting a tad worried...

I got my invite last week as well. :rocker:

Bruce - I'm gonna try to think of some ideas on a dash plaque too - we can talk this weekend. :patriot:

Leechman Cadillac is excited about you guys coming to Bowling Green. I had my oil changed there this morning. They said to make sure to contact them when you are all in town, the manager is a big XLR fan. One of their salesmen was on the XLR design team. They have a beautiful Arctic White 2008 w/900 miles.

I got mine last week. Should be a blast, cant wait. Comfortzone, I will be coming from Evansville, Leave the keys and I will get your baby and show her a good time.
