What a great weekend and next weekend should be even better!
Before I begin, Bruce and Kathy - Andy said hi and pray it doesn't rain. He also signed my ball cap.
I went to Autobahn Country Club Sunday morning, since I was in the area, to get some pics of the Cadillac Performance Driving Experience and see if I could get on the mailing list. Next thing I knew I was behind the wheel of a brand new CTS-V Coupe blasting down the back straight at 140MPH. WOW!
I've been to a lot of Cadillac Enthusiast events, but never had I seen so many V series cars in one place. Coupes Sedans and wagons were all present.
We basically had three classroom sessions and drove either the coupe or the sedan between classes, then finished up with the non-V Coupe drag racing and slamming it around on the skidpad.
O.K. enough of the past. While I was there I got a chance to talk to Andy Pilgrim about driving the new car and what he thought about the upcoming race at Mid-Ohio. (I'll tell you what he said when I see everyone in person).
The good news is the Cadillac publicity team heard me talking to Andy about the XLR Corral at Mid-Ohio and offered those who haven't paid yet Cadillac Corral passes for the weekend. I told them most of us ordered our ticket/passes way in advance. So they have also invited us to lunch on Saturday in their VIP Tent, a short presentation geared for the GM employees, and then a private tour of the Cadillac Racing Team Paddoc. The two Cadillac reps putting this together for us are Len and Dana. I will be contacting them early Saturday to finalize the details, but how many of you would be interested??
