Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Fall Drive 2009

Rich, I did make a reservation for my mom and SD. So count in "Daisy" and two more people (Sandy and Bill)! All your and Bruces work on this is much appreciated! Thanks! :worship:

I'm going to start working on a list of attendees. If you're thinking about the trip, please think a little harder! The hotel seems to be filling up. Please post your intention of attending if you haven't done so already.

If you have NOT posted your attendance, please let me know so I have a number of attendees. If you are worried about privacy, you do NOT have to use your real name - your Forum handle and "guest" or "spouse" or "whatever" will suffice. :chuckle

Please remember, you can do EVERYTHING or ONE THING on our Ininerary. We're a pretty low-pressure group. We only expect you to do one thing - HAVE FUN!

:party

I think it looks great! When have we ever taken a trip that you and Bruce have taken us on that is not just plain fun! Enjoy if you go this weekend it is going to be beautiful out.

Back to the trip.....take a look at this route & let us know what you think.

I'm happy to see that we will have some new people joining us on this trip. We have great people in our group who I'm sure will make the newbies feel welcome. I don't think you can find better people anywhere.:)

I see there is a zipline trail in Rising Sun, IN (Dagaz Acres)--we may have to put that on the list of things to do!!! We did this in Grenada when we were on a cruise--it's awesome!!!! Almost as good as driving the 'twisties'.

Looks like we may have to bring both 'Phils' with the increase of new people coming; should be another great time.:wave:

Yes, that looks like fun. You know it's going to be a good time when you bring along both Phils.

Oh my Marc and I did that last year and it was an absolute blast! Count us in if we plan it! :chuckle

Dagaz Acres ? I look foward to seeing the pictures when y'all get back...:wave:

Does that mean you don't want to try if, Corndog?

You are so perceptive, Cubby. It looks like a boot camp version of the communications class I took in graduate school. Perhaps I could be in charge of keeping the beer cold (and safe) back at the lodge while the rest of you worked on your "team building."

I called about reservations. They were confused and were supposed to call back but never did.

This sounds great ... count my son, Devin and I in on the Zipline event!

Back from our scouting trip.

We just got home from our scouting trip to Madison, IN. It was a great day for a drive. I think you guys are going to enjoy this trip. Our first stop was the Visitor's Center in Madison and then a quick drive out to Clifty Falls SP. We visited the Clifty Inn and talked with them about our upcoming visit/lunch. We drove through the park, stopping @ all of the pull-offs to check out the parking and trails. They have some very nice hiking trails. We went back into Madison, stopped by the Hillside Hotel and Maverick's Restaurant (possible place to eat on Sat. night). We drove our Sunday morning route on 56/156 to Aurora, IN (stopping in Vevay and Markland Locks). We took 350 into Osgood and then 421 to I-74.
Here are some pictures from our drive:

Thanks, Bruce & Kathy. The photos are great (as usual) and they make me look forward to our trip even more. Add all the great MMs who are going and it promises to be a great Fall 2009 trip! ;)

NOTE: If you are even THINKING about going, YOU SHOULD! This is the event where I met everyone last year and if you are new and have even HALF the fun I did, you will be very happy that you went. :grouphug:

George, I'm glad you liked the pictures, it sure was a beautiful day. It was nice to get to check things out first hand since our last visit. There were no signs of road construction on any of our driving routes. We were able to find some good places for photo ops. It should be a great weekend.:rocker:
