Fall Drive 2009

Georgeous! Very nice pictures! Marc and I love taking drives in pretty places, kind of a hobby for us when we have time and the weather permits.
Thanks for sharing!;)

Very pretty! I'll bet it really turns beautiful in the fall!

Hey all, I do think if another room is avail. that I will bring my Mom and SD and Daisy. Hope that is ok! I will be checking with Nicky today to see if more rooms are avail. It should be a good getaway for them. :)
Marc will miss Bling in Tiffany though!

Missy, I'm sure they would have a good time with us...bring them along. One could ride with Marc and one with you.

Thanks for sharing, Cathy. It looks like a fabulous drive. Such varied scenery, and so close to home

Sunday driving route

We could leave Madison on Sunday morning, drive east on 56/156 to Vevay and the Markland Dam and Locks. Continue on 56/156 on to Aurora where we can pick up 350 west to Osgood for lunch. What do you think? We may go drive it this weekend.

Back to the trip.....take a look at this route & let us know what you think.

The trip looks great. Bruce and I talked about it today. I added the details of the drive to the dam (it appears to be in Florence, IN, which is a little further than Vejay, IN). I also added your meeting place as the McDonald's at 8907 E. 116TH STREET FISHERS IN . Let me know if this is not correct!

I also added a stop to Oldenburg, IN after Osgood (per Bruce's suggestion). It looks like a quaint town, known for its many steeples and spires. There is an old monastery there, but it recently closed for tours. It's barely a 1/2 hour from Osgood and should be worth the trip. It's also only a few miles north of I-74, which most of us will take to head home anyway.

Notes were also edited and corrected. Mileage was added.

I'm going to start working on a list of attendees. If you're thinking about the trip, please think a little harder! The hotel seems to be filling up. Please post your intention of attending if you haven't done so already.

If you have NOT posted your attendance, please let me know so I have a number of attendees. If you are worried about privacy, you do NOT have to use your real name - your Forum handle and "guest" or "spouse" or "whatever" will suffice. :chuckle

Please remember, you can do EVERYTHING or ONE THING on our Ininerary. We're a pretty low-pressure group. We only expect you to do one thing - HAVE FUN!

:party

Rich, thanks for updating our trip info. I think it will be a great weekend and I hope everyone enjoys the drive. If anyone has any suggestions, we'd like to hear them.

Maybe we can get photos in front of the fire station like we did in SA.

We sold our new '08 XLR today, so we might have another one joining us.
