Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Do you see XLRs??

It looks to me as the 2nd and 3rd owners were dealers. I bet they bought the car at auction. Before I jumped on this car (even with the low miles) I would look for an 08 or 09. the improvements over the 06 plus the ability to get a GMPP would be worth having a few more miles on it.

Never See 'Em in L.A.

I bought my '04 (Light Platinum) a few months ago when I gave my '08 CTS to my son. I've only noticed 1 or 2 on the road since they started making them 10 years ago (same color, I think).... and this is Los Angeles, where the Tesla Model S is already becoming almost as common as the VW Bug! 99% of the cars on the freeway are Toyotas, Hondas, Beamers and Benzes. Never thought this car would be just about the most unique one on the road when I bought it (for $18k)!

Wow! $18K!!!!! That was a steal!!!! How many miles did it have on it?

Although, that is a phenominally great price, it is ashamed that these cars are not more valued.:dunno:

It was the same way with the Prowler. Oh well, maybe in 20 more years they will become collector's items.:beerchug:

Last night i received a email from the salesman saying that they dropped the price of this car to $49,981. So just out of curiosity I asked him what he would give me if i traded my Base XLR in for the V. He said the kbb on my car in excellent condition is $24,540. (Well i looked up mine on KBB and they came back with a little over at $24,666) In his reply, he said they were willing to go to $26,000. Since they have seen and know how i keep my cars clean. Total difference would be $26,308 out the door. That includes dealer fees, tax and tag transfer. I'm still :drool:ing over this car. I even went to the registry and printed out a window sticker of all the different things that the V has that my base doesn't. But the only thing is. i don't think its the right XLR-V. But oh well.
Like i said. I wish i had the money, and the space. Because I would love to have both my base and this V :bash:

I just love how she's smiling at me

Just to give you a update. she is SOLD. The salesman i talked to said that she got sold to someone is sunrise florida or some S town in florida. So keep an eye out for this car. I did tell the salesm,an to gfive them my card and tell them about this site. They pick her up sometime between now and thursday. She's already got the tags and registered. Thats what he said. It was backed up in the delivery bay area.

Since I am in Davenport able to go to Chicago for some trips. So I went to Chicago for the labor day weekend with my date and we drove all around. We drove around all over just looking for and at shoes. The good thing is I got to drive the XLR. The bad thing is I absolutely hate shopping and carrying the bags. :rotate: Being together is great, but the hours of review, then look at something else, and then come back to the previous ones and then go somewhere else makes me like this.

Anyway, in all of the hours and days of driving I did not see any other XLR's. Where or where have they gone? They must be somewhere being driven. Did someone buy them up and place them in a wherehouse? Come on. :dunno:

Bravery beyond the call.................

Now Gentlemen (& Ladies), I ask you.......is this not a brave soul or is he loosing it? Look at the facts presented here:

1, He drove his XLR in Chicago!!!
2. He actually WENT to Chicago, the murder capitol of the USA
3. He went SHOE SHOPPING???? With a woman????

Question: Should he get some sort of medal or psychoanalysis?

I don't have a answer, but some people will do anything just to drive their XLR!

You might be more right than you realize.

I suspect they are quite a few of them parked in garages that only come out on nice days for pleasure trips.

Those owners certainly must value them as much as I do and already consider them to be "collector cars".

My excuse is 2 parts. yes I take mine out only on nice days. But also since I can only drive 1 car, then I have to take mine out any day that I can. The big reason is. image.jpg

Can I assume that is a device for left foot excelleration: aka for your good foot? (or only foot?) I hope this does not sound "insensitive"....... but since you are posting, I am asking.

It had 74k miles at the time. Yes, I think it was a great price, although it's basically the Blue Book value. It was from a Cadillac dealer south of L.A. (bought a used STS for my son there in '06), and they actually raised the price to $28k after I originally saw it. When I saw it parked out in front with the top down, I thought, "There's no way I'm gonna get this car for $18k!". It looked almost brand new and had a stellar CarFax report. Fortunately I printed the ad I saw online and they honored the price.

The only XLR's I see listed for sale are at a dealer near Palm Springs, and they are all priced way above Blue Book.

And to think I came close to paying $85k for a Tesla! Now I see those just about every time I go anywhere! Really glad I got the XLR instead. I even saved enough $$ to buy two or three more (although I wouldn't have had to buy any gas for the Tesla)!

It's a pedal that has a bar going over to the right. Then there is a shield so you can't even press down on the right pedal. My old one didn't have that shield. But I can't use the regular floor mats that came with the car. So I bought a rubber mat and had it cut to fit the opening. So every time I take it to service. I just pull the pin and put the pedal in the trunk.

Wow, great find! Also at 74k miles you should still be able to get another 50k miles or more out of her!

As far as the other ones being far above blue book that is great! It is great to hear that the XLR's still have some street value! :rocker:

Don't know if its still there or not

but if you go to fields cadillac's website. There is a 05 crimson pearl that has 87,338 miles for just under 22k. It says its at the St. augustine dealer but who knows. The first pic shows a jacksonville name on it.
2005 Cadillac XLR for sale in Saint Augustine - 1G6YV34A555602947 - Fields Cadillac St. Augustine.

But for those of us still on the look out for 1. you never know. But i would be a little insecure about the high millage. But like the one guy here named professor. someone told me he still has his and has around 200 k miles on her. :dunno:

Henry, aka "The Professor", joined us for our Pennsylvania trip last year. At that time, he had over 250,000 miles on his XLR!

I headed south today near hwy 58 in Bakersfield and I came up on a silver XLR. I snapped this picture as I drove by in the work car. I notice he has Corvette wheels on the XLR too.

You always see jeeps with sayings like "if you can read this then flip me over"Someone here needs to have a banner on the back window made up with the "if you own a xlr then u need to join /be a member of the xlr-net site" or "are you a member of the xlr-net site"? :dunno::)

I agree. We need to have a sign made up saying "XLR-net.com" and place them on our XLR's when they are stationary (no, not at home in the garage ).

People would then see the sign, be currious and come to the site. They may even wind up joining. :blinzel:

Also, did you notice, there is no-one driving that XLR. :willy_nilly:

How do I put the car in "autonomos driving mode"? Isn't it one of the options? :chuckle
