I saw it on the news last night and wondered if you had gotten blown over to South Dakota!!:lol: Glad to hear you & Cindy didn't receive any damage. We live in tornado alley in Illinois, so it is almost an occurance with every thunderstorm moving through the area. I guess we are just use to it.

We had a TORNADO touch down about 4:30 this afternoon. Took 3/4 of the room off our county multi-purpose building, called the METRA. Also demolished a glass shop, part of a casino and a portion of a boat sales business a couple blocks away from the METRA. It's been a looooonngg time since we've had a tornado up here in Montana; I think the last one was in the 1950's. It's just amazing what a gust of wind can do!!! Total devastastion!!!

We went to the Fair and I tried the Deep Fried Butter ...

This is what it is ... an actual (small) stick of butter, battered and deep fried with a kind of donut-y stuff. When you bite into it the hot butter runs out of the middle and down your arm ... oh, and they sprinkled it with garlic and parmesean cheese. Now, it that's not enough to make you , you can always order the alternate: cinnamon sugar ... :ugh:
Well, somebody had to try it.

Hope all of you great dads' had a wonderful day.... Mu-ahhh!

That is gross. Some of the stuff they come up with YUCK!!!!

Electricity was restored this morning. Brush pile hauled away. Everything is back to normal. Took the two cars up to a winery in Michigan this afternoon. They had wine tasting, a band and cook out. They are also the sponser for a vette club in Michigan, and had a vette only car show today. The ZR1 really drew everyones attention.

Todd, it's good to hear that things are back to normal & that you and Karen are getting the toys out and enjoying them.

I bet it was Karen that drew all of the attention, not the ZR1.

Between the rain and the humidity I can't do a thing with my hair. :dunno:

This morning my oldest grandboy was one of 549 graduating students from Grossmont High School .... I felt as high with joy as the caps looked when they threw them in the air .... :blinzel:

Today was absolutely gorgeous... 86 and sunny ALL DAY. Went to the Billings Mustangs game tonight - our Professional Pioneer League team under the Cincinnati Reds. What a beautiful night for baseball - even though we lost...
After the game we went out for dinner to celebrate out 15th wedding anniversary.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Rocket!

Ray spent the day "detailing" the younger daughter's car. She bought a Ford Flex when the little grandboy was born and now finds that she needs a bigger vehicle as she can't pack him, his cargo, and CostCo loot in the back. So, we spent last night looking at Yukon's and Tahoe's. Now, that was fun and great for them .... but while we were looking there was one of the Anniversary Edition T-Birds that had just been turned in - I love them - They are just so one of a kind when you see them. Another car that you see, recognize and remember. It was one of the Turquoise and the interior was 2-tone with the black and turquoise - quite striking. I could be Jay Leno ... there are so many cars I'd love to park in my garage. :rocker:

It's a bee-u-tee-ful Saturday morning - we are sitting here drinking our morning coffee and contemplating what we will do today - that's the problem with retirement .... you always need to think about what you want to do .... If you're still working and you read this that probably doesn't make sense .... :)

It looks like the weather is great Nationwide ... I hope you're all having a top-down wonderful day no matter what you do

Drove "Little Bugger" to Cripple Creek this morning to be in the parade with the Shriners. Had fantastic weather, great parade and drove home with the top down. Perfect day for it. Probably thirty years since I was last in Cripple Creek. Probably another thirty before I go back unless I drive in the parade in August. All the casino hawkers were yelling, "WHERE IS LOLA'S MOM?" you must have made a good impression.:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle

Hmmmph .... I think the only impression they got was that I probably helped make payroll that week ... :pat:

I have been restoring a Lister diesel engine. These are stationary engines used for running equipment, pumping water, generators, etc. From what I gather, this one came out of an Amish woodshop.

Here is a link to the Lister forum where I have posted pictures of the progress of this project.

Something a bit different....

What a beautiful, hot day! I spent today in the pool with a margarita! How did you choose to spend this fabulous day?

Saturday was a very LONG day ... but a very enjoyable one. All I've done today is go to church (I go for SUPA too ), then thought up some errands to run so I can go tool around with the top down. Its a beautiful day here in Chicago too.
Have a good week everyone! (my week is gonna suck - month end and all :willy_nilly:).

I went to church, but it was WAY to hot to go topless with this humidity!! Gotta love this NC weather! It was only cool enough to put the top down in April. That's ok, because Fall will be here before we know it!
