XLR Gathering in Colorado 2010

back in Wisconsin

David and I made it back last night. When we got here, Julia and Hannah and David were here, so we had a welcome committee! Hannah had already picked up the dogs from the kennel, so everyone was here waiting for us.

We had a great time with you guys - sorry, we just couldn't keep up. The altitude really kicked out butts!

Hope everyone has a safe trip home. I'll post my pictures on Tuesday (when I'm supposed to be working).

THANK YOU to everyone! We had sooo much fun!

Sure am glad you made it home safe and hope you are feeling better now that you are almost back to Sea Level. Sorry our altitude didn't agree with you, it does take time to adjust. Anyway, I am glad you came out as it was good to see you and spend a little time with you. I am sure you enjoyed your welcoming home committe, always good to see our furry friends after we have been away.

I am home safe and sound. Thank you to all who helped plan this wonderful trip. It was so good to see some familiar faces as well as so many new ones! The Colorado Springs area is beautiful and I'm so glad we got to enjoy it without severe weather. Now I have to harvest the lawn and do laundry! Like Cathy, I'll post some pics as soon as I can.

THANK YOU, AGAIN, to the planners and the locals who made our visit so memorable.

George

I just wanted to drop you all a line and say what a pleasure it was to meet everyone and thank you for letting Sharon and I join in with the group. I hope you all enjoyed your time here in colorful Colorado and have a safe trip home.

Jim

Jim, it was a pleasure meeting you and Sharon. You guys and FR were very helpful and made the trip special for all us.

We got home around 3:45 pm, what a wonderful trip!!!! We loved our time in CO, it's such a beautiful state. It was sad seeing George, Cubby and Supa leave the cararvan today to head home. It's hard to believe the week is already gone. I'll post pictures soon.

Bruce, Glad to hear you all made it home safely. We had a blast with you all while you were here, you guys are a fun group and definitely know how to have a great time. Looking forward to getting together with you guys on the next get together.

Jim

Got home at Noon today. Said Hi to the animals then to a good car wash. Ruth Ann and Ray are still stuck on the I-15 on the way home.

Thanks to everyone, again it was a great time. Look forward to next year.:rocker:

Kevin and Marion stopped in on their way home. We had a nice visit and discussed new trips and of course the September event here.

The stories fron the trip were great! So glad to hear everyone checking in at home safely.

See you all soon,

Bob

Cubby and I are home safe and sound. Already unpacked and went and piked up Samantha. The first thing Cubby did was wash Scarlett-V. :chuckle I'm sure all of you already knew that. Thank you everyone we had a great time. Thank you Jim, Sharon, and First Robin for being our tour guides. The weather was absolutely wonderful. Thank you Madmac and Thirsty1 for coming from Canada to spend time with us. To everyone there a great big BAM to you all!!!!:laugh::laugh:

Wow!!!! Everyone is home allready! We're at a hotel in Durango, riding the train tomorrow. Beautifully drive down to here, up and down mountains with the streams beside us. Another drive of not paying attention to the 30 MPH around the curve signs!! Tuesday night staying in Denver for the night, sould be home Wednesday!

Chad & Rogene

We are home too ... almost 900 miles today ... whew!

Believe it or not, Lola is going to bed without a bath ... now Ray is sniffing and I am going to cozy up with a good decongestant, a hot shower and my doggie and call it a day.

Thanks everyone for all you did ... It was really nice putting faces to names ... and seeing all of you  - that's what is all about and that's why we'll see you again next year!

Looking forward to the pictures ... I can't even imagine how many Photo Girl and Cadillac Tech took - had to be at least a couple of thousand??? Thanks you guys ... that is a very time comsuming task - but I think you all know how much appreciated those efforts are ... :rocker: They are the memories ...

Marion, You are very welcome, I wish we could have had a few more days as there is a lot more to see and do here. Glad to hear you, cubby and scarlett-v are home safe and sound

Jim

Chad and Rogene, Sharon and I sure enjoyed meeting you two and the next time we are coming thru Lincoln, we will give you a call. You guys are going to love your train ride over to Silverton, Colorado. Maybe not as much as blasting through those 30 mile an hour mountain curves. They should add to the bottom of those signs "except XLR's".
Jim

Jim, it was fun chasing you through those 30 mph curves:lol::lol: Marion & I really enjoyed you & Sharon's company and experience of the area. Thanks for taking time to show the group around. Look forward to seeing you guys again at our next adventure!!

Hi Gang,
Sorry I had to leave early but my daughter's plans changed and I only had 1 day to visit with them and it was a day's drive from CS to Idaho.
I went north on I-25 to I-80 and saw some of the most beautiful country while driving through southern portion of Wyoming.
I stayed within +5 mph of the posted speed limit and although there were hardly any cars on I-80, 3 past me and I re-past them as they were sitting off the road getting speeding tickets!
I arrived in Idaho around 11 PM and my daughter had already made a reservation for me at the local motel. Got up early Sat. morning and took my daughter, granddaughter and 3 grandsons to breakfast and spent the day catching up on family matters.
I left Idaho Sun. morning and drove down I-15 to Las Vegas then to Hwy 215 to Pahrump, NV. where I spent a couple of hours with my uncle whom just got out of the hospital and is recovering from a bad chest infection.
I got back here to my home around mid-night last night and am now washing clothes and then my XLR.
I had a wonderful time and am sorry I missed the first couple of days, as what I was able to participate in was quite enjoyable.
Thank you FR for your help in getting together with the group.
And yes folks, I believe it was my car (Star Black Metallic) that was the dirty one that was mentioned early in the accounting. That was because I drove from my home in Lawndale, CA. to Grand Junction, CO.(800 + miles), spent the night there and then drove to CS arrving around 2 PM. I was able to get into my suite and unload the car then find a car wash and cleaned it up so she was nice and shinny. I then searched and found Red Nolan Cadillac and was able, through them, to contacted FR who came over to the dealer where we had some coffee and was able to figure out where the group was.
Mean while, it rained really hard then I had to drive on of what had to be the dirtiest paved road in the state. So, my car was dirty when I caught up with the group. But I washed it again after our Pikes Peak train ride.
Thanks again to all and I did get safetly home AND TICKET FREE!

NO Jack, it was not your car that was mentioned as one dirty one in the colors. It was the one dubbed SRX-LR. LOL Hope everyone else got it.

Cubby, Sharon and I really enjoyed meeting you and Marion and the rest of the group, you guys are a blast. I hope everyone enjoyed our somewhat spirited drive through the mountains as much as we did. You never know quite how fast to go with a group, as some like it and others don't. We are looking forward to the next get together.

Isn't that the truth... Cindy seems to be white-knuckled most of the time :naughty::naughty: :blinzel:

Unless your navigator is a 15 year old boy with his driving permit... he loves the thrill just about as much as myself.
