The Weather Channel

Yeah, finally! I'll drive the SUV tomorrow so I can pick up a new keg, but it will be Misty for the rest of the week!!!

It's great that the weather is improving so we can get our toys out & play with them!

I think a little of Alaska is drifting down our coast - and we may finally get some rain tomorrow - yay!

We skip Spring and go right into "May-Grey" and "June-Gloom" - these are the 2 months of the year when we get our mixed bag of weather because of the 3 extreme influences .... Hawaii from the west, Alaska from the north, and Mexico from the south - it's like all the Gods are fighting for control for a couple of months .... weird. :willy_nilly:

This is rather funny for Arizona but unfortunately wont be for all of you in the midwest. Yesterday it was 88 degrees today it will be 82 degrees tomorrow we have a really bad storm with 65 mph winds. They say we will have snow in the city of Tucson. It will get down to 39 degrees.:ugh: Never has the weather been so messed up as this year.

Fred:wave::wave:

Fulfil your fantasy "THINK CORVETTE"

We're on vacation this week... spent the last four days in the Phoenix area. We're on Catalina Island today and tomorrow, then back to Disneyland for a few days. Been absolutely gorgeous so far!!! Hopefully it won't end!!

Today is beautiful! We should have a high of 73 degrees. Tomorrow it is supposed to be even warmer...we may hit 80! It was a great day to drive Photo Mom's 1998 Corvette to work!

Kathy that is so cool - has the '98 found a new stable located somewhere in Ciciero??? ;)

We are on our way to LegoLand today with the littlest grand - but it looks more cloudy than I like - that rain has been v-e-r-y slow getting here - hopefully it will stay away just one more day.

Glad you are having a good time Rod - AZ is mostly always gorgeous (except June, July, August & Sept) then the devil himself knows it is too hot! Hope your Catalina trip stays nice - Islands 26 miles off of the coast LA way can be very iffy - very iffy, and cold .... looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

(We keep one of Photo Mom's Corvettes at our house all the time.)

Gorgeous weather yesterday and today. Actually put the top down last night, on the way home from choir practice and didn't put it up until I got to work this morning. Can't wait to get out of work today and enjoy more topdown cruizing. Now that the weather has turned to TOPDOWN weather, I think it is funny that Devin has quite the choice to make now - he now has his driving permit, but knows the XLR is out of the question. So whenever my wife or myself ask him if he wants to drive, he usually chooses to ride with me in the XLR instead of riding with mom and driving.

The weather here is awesome! We have gotten a lot done the last few evenings; cleaning up the yard (many, many limbs and twigs), rolled the lawn, cleaned out the gutters on the barn and I even took the truck out for a little drive. She sure is fun to drive:rocker: That 460 really pulls, tons of torque, sounds so pretty. There is nothing like an American V-8!!!:patriot: We have atleast one more beautiful day tomorrow.

Catalina was super... fantastic weather. Although it did rain immensely on Wednesday night after we got in and had a couple bottles of wine. Woke up Thursday morning to sunshine and BLUE SKY... didn't want to leave. Very relaxing... the Botanical Gardens were wonderful. One day on the island isn't enough to do it justice... although the seafood is exquisite!!! Found an absolutely wonderful restaurant (Lobster Trap) on Wednesday night for dinner. Wished we would have found it earlier... would have eaten every meal there. The clam chowder was by far the best I have EVER eaten... and the blackened Sea Bass was to die for!! It won't be our last trip to Catalina Island. We stayed at Zane Grey's house - it's been turned into a hotel. Very quaint with beautiful views...

Rod - I love your review of Catalina - we have never been there, we've not ever had anyone give us such rave reviews - maybe we will venture over one weekend - it's not that far from us. I am glad you escaped the rain - we did too - spent the day in Legoland (Carlsbad) running after the 2 yr old - Had a great time. As you can see - SoCal gets huge media coverage if they even sniff out a hint of rain .... funny, huh? That rain you experienced is what we call a "storm".

I am glad you are having decent weather - it's a little cool for me today, but Ray loves this to work out in the yard ... no sweat ... literally!

Have a great time in DisneyLand - tell Mickey I said hi ... don't forget to let us know how it is ... we love it there - especially Downtown Disney - cute shops. Try the Rain Forest Cafe - a little unique.

Been to the Rain Forest in San Fransisco a couple years ago. It was very good.
Ate at the Blue Bayou Cajun Restaurant in Disneyland last night... exceptional. A tad on the pricey side (my Jambalaya was $30.99), but hey... it IS Disneyland. Tonight we ate at Tortilla Joes in Downtown Disney. Amazing ribs... smothered in Tequila Habanero BBQ sauce, served with the most amazing Jalapeno and corn whipped potatoes and Red Chili Onion Rings. I thought they mistakenly brought me the WHOLE pig... for ONLY $19.95.
We stayed at the Clarion in Anaheim, just down from Disney... the restaurant in the Clarion, Tivoli Garden, was one I would not recommend at all. The food was marginal at best and fairly expensive... the service was horrible. Not a good place to eat, but the Clarion is a nice place to stay, although the rooms had two DOUBLE beds as most have at least queen size.

Hey ... did any of you feel THAT?

Earthquake!

Biggest shaker I've ever felt in 60 years .... but don't feed into the news hype .... our coffee didn't even spill ... :squint:

We felt it in Claremont - 120+ miles to the north of the epicenter... visiting the Youth Pastor of the church we belonged to when I was 16. He just turned 80 in February.
First earthquake I've ever felt... pretty unnerving!! Just sitting there visiting and all of a sudden the room starts this gentle movement. I look at the wall - it looks as though it's moving slightly side to side, the lamp on the ceiling is swaying. I look at the Pastor and he says... "Huh, that was a long one." Hope it's the last I ever feel... don't get those in MT. Don't get hurricanes, tornadoes or anything like that... glad of it, too!!! :blinzel:

That's a good time to make James Bond Martini's---Shaken, not stirred!!:laugh:
