Key West fun!

Sorry, couldn't post this last night, my cell phone was not cooperating. We are in Key West celebrating our 38th anniversary. I took this photo to share w Dan in a Face Book chat. My X squeezed into the small driveway at our Key West rental!

Was watching the Barrett Jackson today and there was a sale of an 06 Xlr that was sold around $40,000 only thing it had 1800 original miles on it. The announcers had positive things to say about the XLR...

Southern most XLR

This morning, as we left Key West we swung by the Southern Most Point in continental USA so fo a brief moment I could honestly say that I owned the 'Southern Most XLR'!

The day before, at around 10:30 am we walked by there and there was a huge line up of people wanting their photo with that marker. Today at 8:30 am there was hardly anyone there. Yes, Steve was driving at the time, not me - so it was easy enough for me to hop out to snap a photo. The car actually was rather dirty by my standards, but it looks pretty good in the photo none the less!

For those of you that was at our 2011 Gettysburg XLR Gathering run, know about all the winding curvey back roads through Gettysburg Battlefield Park! And Saturday morning was cool crisp breezy morning beautiful blue sky's day and warmed up to around 60 as the day progressed Well this group of us car enthusiasts got together and decided we do a battlefield shoot run for pictures! Here's a few of my own personal collection when we'd stop n snap! We had a couple professional camera folks shooting from other spots just for there own practice!
It ended up being a top down rest of the day! [emoji6][emoji41]

I'm glad you enjoyed them Pure Zen! Maybe after I retire this June we can plan another gathering here in the future, lot of other great places and things to do with in about an hour of here......Lots of winery places too. I'll be at one them great places next Saturday for a Cars N Critters Show in the area of town chocolate , Hershey PA at the AACA Museum of cars & displays. AACA Museum | Antique Automobile & Motor Vehicle History One of my bucket list trips is to cruz Roxy on Rt. 66.

Maybe after I retire this June we can plan another gathering here in the future, lot of other great places and things to do with in about an hour of here......Lots of winery places too. As per your last sentence. One of my bucket list trips is to cruz on Rt. 66 that's on my bucket list too. Hopefully before something major happens to my baby.

Here's my baby. LOVE driving this thing. I look for excuses to take it out.
Even here in DFW, only see other XLRs maybe once a month.

I do come to Dallas but just bought the XLR. So it has not made that trip with me yet. If I do, I will let you know. Beautiful car BTW.

2006 XLR's in this color is called Infrared. It's the same paint code as Red Jewel Tintcoat. Is that an aftermarket grille you got on there?

New grill

It's the 'V' model grill. It was on the car when I bought it, but I probably would have put it on anyway. I like that mesh a LOT better than those Venetian blind slats on the base models. Also have it on the lower grill.
Have added Magnaflo mufflers. Curb sensor. Heat shield under the center console, and wind deflector. Red's getting pretty close to what I have in my mind's eye. Still would like to add backup camera, and upgrade the navigation system (the standard one SUCKS!). After that, maybe a little paint chip repair, and he'll be PERFECT!
