just had factory shocks installed on 2005 xlr, 2 days later I had car detailed now the service ride control displayed on dash. could it have gotten wet and caused the message to come on? I have driven the car on highway for close to an hour. now it also displays a message maximum speed 80 MPH
After I had the work done on the car it started displaying low cool but the reservoir is full.

I sure hope you didn't pay full price for your shocks.

As for your first question: Possibly. Lift the rat fur carpet over the left/rear of the trunk and take a look under the cover that is over the hydraulic pump and Suspension module compartment for any evidence of water intrusion. The faulty coolant level sensor indication is probably a different issue.

Reach around behind each tire and make sure the ABS connector is fully seated in the bearing's socket. I had someone a while back forgot to connect one and troubleshooting drove me crazy.

I've found out that our ABS sensors are very sensitive and the readings must match within a very close tolerance from left to right. Any work on the suspension/wheels could upset this delicate balance, but it usually sorts itself out within 10 or 20 miles. It may also reset itself by turning the car on and off a few times.

If one should fail or a bearing fail, I always order a pair of replacements (Yes, I go through a lot of bearings). After replacing the failed one, I test drive the car for 100 miles or so and if the code stays on I will replace the bearing on the opposite side of the car and test again. Worse case, I've had to do this twice to get two bearing with ABS sensors that were within the car's tolerances. Nothing was really wrong with the other bearing, the tolerances just didn't match. Luckily, my local parts store let me exchange parts without penalty.
