Homecoming 2013 shirts & hats

I tried to do this through the correct channels, spoke with the legals dept at GM, they sent me to their approved suppliers, who never replied to me, so I inquired to GM again, who never replied so I tried the suppliers again: NO reply, so I contacted GM again, NO reply. This is a big part of the reason I dropped the ball on doing this, I have lots on my plate to deal with to have the time to do a job 3 or 4 times and still get no where. Legally, GM still owns the rights and we are supposed to go thru the proper channel: but the proper channels donot offer XLR stuff any more.......

SO: if we can convince them to use the silhouette (they obviously do not recognize that as a registered trade mark: perhaps it is not, just the scripts etc) then go with that.

Honesty the couple of shirts we are doing are not being sold to make a profit and they most likely would never even realize us! Now days you can get almost any design off the Internet and make poster, pictures ect.... And if no one from GM seems to have enough interest to return your calls they apparently were not to concerned!

No one will get rich selling XLR stuff. Try and find anything. Very rare.

It's unfortunate that this becomes an issue with time so short, but I believe Sandy is right here.

Drop the "XLR" and keep the silhouette.

I apologize bit I'm just jumping into this now. I see no reason why XLr could not be used. As someone already mentioned the XLR has been dead since 2009. If you're concerned about GM's rights to it. Look it up on the National Patent and Trademark office web site. If it's not trademarked or patented, the shirt company shouldn't have an issue.

Researching and hoping I can convince the vendors.

Looks dead to me.

The vendors content legal dept. is worried about having both the XLR and the silhouette on the shirt. They have said the XLR needs to go.

I'm talking with them now to see if it could be either the silhouette OR the XLR Changing the XLR font is not good enough. This is news after they already OKed the design. The difference between sales and legal.

So here we are. How bad is it if the XLR is removed? If they say it is OK, is it better to remove the silhouette? Can the "XLR" be replaced with something else? Move the silhouette to the front of the T-shirt (one side printing is cheaper)

This applies to both the T-shirt and the Polo.

Opinions?

We do not have a lot of time to decide.

To those who have already purchased and sent your money. I will refund your money if the final design is not to your liking.

Audrey and I are not able to attend but we would .iike both a polo and a t-shirt. I'll pay for shipping from your location to Oregon.

A large steel gray polo and a large blue (like your blue choice) t-shirt.

If we can not have XLR on the front we would vote for the siloette where the XLR would have been. Nothing on the back.

Crud: I wish I knew I could research that before I went thru all of my BS with GM & the 'approved' shirt providers etc..... :(

I have been asked by a few people wanting shirts that will not be attending. The vendor is not equipped to drop ship so I will need to repackage and re-ship these shirts out again from my location. I am going to try and find a flat rate shipping method just to make things easier. I hope to have that info today. Stay tuned.

USPS has flat rate shipping for packages. The flat rate boxes are even free at the Post Office. I believe the small flat rate boxes ship for around $6.

You can choose the fabric color, the thread color is white. A different color thread/stitching can be used if more than 6 shirts are ordered with the same different color. This means if you want 6 shirts with black thread it can be done. 2 with red, 2 with blue and 2 with black can not. 6 minimum for each color. To this point there have been no requests for an alternate thread.

Official color? Nope. I'm choosing blue. I have a red car. Maybe those with blue cars will choose a red shirts??

The T-shirt is screened or printed. I relatively sure this single color design will be screened. In any case the t-shirt is not embroidered.
There is no ladies t-shirt.

Please see my last post about important design changes.

O.K. Phrede. I want two polo shirts - 1 LG Mens, 1 LG Womens

Problem is I want a white shirt with black thread!

Anyone else want to join me in getting black thread?????
Only need 4 more...

I'm ordering the Ultramarine Blue polo and it would be fine if they used black thread on my polo. I'm not sure it is 6 shirts of the same color with black thread or just 6 shirts with black thread?

Anyway, if it helps, I would be ok with black thread. I guess check with Phrede.

It looks like there will be enough interest to say either black or white stitching is OK. Just specify which you want.

There is a total of 5 shirts ordered so far, but I think that is due to the design fiasco (hopefully solved today or tomorrow) I think there is much more interested that will be ordering once things are settled.

Shirt shipping info.

Shipping on the polo or t-shirts for the people not attending the homecoming will be available using USPS.

Rather then quoting everyones order based on weight and distance I'm estimating. I'm not trying to make money here, just don't want to spend a lot of time saving pennies.
The shirts are estimated to ship from me on 26SEP.

1 shirt $7
2 shirts $12.35
3 shirts $12.35

Hope this helps.

Both Amy and I will like to have black thread.

The cost of the small flat rate box is $5.80. But it is too small to fit a shirt. I tried. The medium box is large enough for 3 shirts and is $12.35 which is what I quoted. The USPS tyvek envelop is large enough for a single shirt. After weighing the shirt I removed standing in the post office the best method for a single shirt was $7.

Design still not final

Despite my best efforts, the answer on if the "XLR" will be on the shirts is still not answered yet. It now looks like it will be Monday, the 9th, before an answer will be available. The vendor is just not providing an answer.

This does not leave much time to get the order in before the deadline of the 10th. I'll extend the deadline to the 11th but it can't move any later and still receive the shirts in time. I understand people waiting until the design is final before sending money. Those needing to send a check because they do not use PayPal should contact me ASAP and send the check NOW. If the final design is not to your liking I'll mail your check back or refund you on PayPal whichever method you used.

Listing what you want to buy here on this forum is great, but I ask that you include that information along with your payment so I can be sure to get the right thing ordered. Prepayment is required and no extra shirts will be ordered. I will be sending out confirming emails the evening of the 10th. This will give just enough time to correct any errors.

At this point I have received one PayPal payment.
