Fall Drive '10?

The party has already started! We had a nice dinner tonight, thanks Cubby. Supa may have scared a few people @ the table next to ours.

Leaving tomorrow morning (after we devour a few dozen of Long's doughnuts). It's going to be great weekend. :rocker:

Yea... but doesn't Supa ALWAYS scare people sitting at the next table??

Awesome Weekend!!!

We made it home about an hour ago...another awesome weekend with great friends. The weather was really good, only a few sprinkles on Saturday morning. SR250 was a blast both times we ran it, except for the Buick that was stopped in the road as we came over a hill.
Quote of the weekend; "The pedal on the right makes it go faster":lol::lol:

Our "new" members fit in well. Steve and his Alpine White '08 were waiting for us in Madison on Saturday morning...great guy and a beautiful car!

We ran out of time as usual, but we did get to see a lot in Madison. We found one homeowner that gave 5 of us a tour of his 115 year old home.

A BIG THANKS to Chicago Dave & Devin for the cool shirts. The shirts have our nicknames on them below the XLR logo and match the color of each car.:rocker:

It was great seeing all of you and I can't wait to see you again...your the best!

Devin & I made it home about 3:15p Chicago time. We once again, had a fantastic time. It was to nice to see everyone again and to have a blast on SR250. As "spirited" as Bruce got - I stuck to him like glue (and George and Gizmo were right there too). A lot of "weeeee" moments - loved it.
It was great to meet Steve and his "new to him" '08 Alpine White X. What a beautiful car... many happy miles, Steve! Hope we didn't scare you away; but rather, entice you to join us for many more events. I think Steve can convince many of the Florida/southern state XLR owners to venture up north a tad for some awesome times.

Thanks to Bruce and Kathy for always keeping us organized.

I bought my XLR for the thrill of owning one fantastic automobile ... little did I know that driving it wouldn't be the BEST part of having one ... its the incredible friendships that I have found! THANKS EVERYONE!
Another successful Fall Drive in the books - can't wait to see those amazing pictures Kathy, George, Bruce....

lol, I came on to check if people had put up any of the pics. Kathy, you scare me when you lean out of the car to take pics, but I gotta admit that you take some fantastic photos that way.
I love going on these things mainly because I like the people. I enjoyed meeting Steve, and seeing his Alpine White, and gotta say, it is a unique car compared to other unique cars! Hope you are able to join us on some other drives Steve! I also enjoyed meeting Dave (Who bought Cubby's old '04). This is probably one of my favorite times for the drives, in my opinion, because during the fall, the color changing leaves just look so beautiful. And no matter when we go, it is always to some place great. This is my 2nd fall drive, and I just love it. Thanks guys!

Fall Drive Photos

Here are a few early photos. That darn sign was in the way (as you can see) but we (???) took care of it...

Here are a few more. The colors weren't as good as in prior years, but a great time was had by all. WELCOME NEWCOMERS!!!!

Great pics, everyone... really makes the rest of us feel like we were there (except for the fact we're not in any of the pictures)...

Nice pictures guys.

We got the opportunity to meet Steve aka sschooley. I hope he will be attending more events with us. It was great meeting you Steve.

Great Pics, Bruce & Kathy!!! Another great weekend drive with our Midwest friends--both old and new!!

Glad Gibby finally made an event. It was also great having Steve come over from NC with his Alpine White. Hope he had a nice, safe ride back to Orlando.

It was also nice having Joe Pruitt from The Corvette Homecoming joining us and extending the invitation to All XLR owners for next year.

See you all again very soon!!

What a great weekend! The weather cooperated...only a light rain early Saturday. And 2 new owners joined us on this trip...Gibbs (from IL) and Steve from Orlando, FL. Steve picked up his new toy in North Carolina and made the 700 mile trip to join us! Hopefully, they will be able to join us on more trips.

What great fun! It never fails - I make new friends everytime I go to an MM event. Steve, Dave & Wendy, Gibbs - it was really nice meeting you all. Thanks to Bruce and Kathy for putting this great event together for us. PJ almost got a new nickname (5AM), but I know she already hates it. We'll have to think up a better one.

Mark stay away from my DRLs!

The videos are going to have to wait till I get my video editor PC out of the basement and run them through the mixer and add audio. Anyone have any preference for the background music?

Below are a few of the shots I took this weekend.

WHAT A WEEKEND! I can not thank you all enough for making me feel welcome and a part of the group. What a wonderful experience. I am so glad I made the plunge to fly to North Carolina; buy this XLR; and drive to join you all in Madison on the same weekend. Certainly a memory that I will never forget...[yah and Supa's instructive help to keep me from doing something wrong will burn in my brain forever] I'm looking forward to the next time. THIS WAS JUST THE GREATEST TRIP.

I only arrived home in Florida about an hour ago due to some very intense storms around Atlanta this morning. My Wife and Son were so glad I made it home; actually said "HI" and then they rushed out and took the XLR. I haven't seen them or the XLR since. I hope they come back.......

What a great time! Many thanks to Kathy, Bruce, and Jeanie for being so welcoming. This is such a great group!!!

Thank you!

Steve

We wanted to thank Kathy and Bruce for all the time and effort it takes to put an event together. As always, it was nice to meet new members and catch up on past events with the others. We are looking forward to the National Corvette in Bowling Green, already made reservations.

I think 5AM will just have to stick to P.J. Great meeting you guys. Hope to see you in Orlando this winter Steve. Dave your too far North, Hope to see you down here. I hate cold.
