Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Do you see XLRs??

Nice.... Hey, in pic #3 is the exhaust bent or is it just the angle? Hope they correct that before new owners snatch it up. They shouldn't have to foot that bill.

now that you mention it. i must not have been paying to much attention when i snapped the pic. i didn't really notice the exhaust tips.

I just took a pic of mine. It looks like the same mistake or maybe they have done these at the factory

I saw a grey XLR in town today that I have not seen before.

It was definitely grey, not silver.

Indirect XLR spotting

Kudos to our kid who spotted a blue XLR near us while riding the bus, & told us about it since we're apparently "obsessed" with XLR's. :chuckle Been by its location a lot but the road there is tricky so there's no looking around at driveways. Plan on trying to take our XLR's by for a meet & greet sometime. :thumbsup Hopefully they don't have the attitude of a nearby house that has a non-solicitation sign about solicitors will be shot & survivors shot again.

Probably would depend on whether you try to sell them something...:blinzel:

Trying to post a question ??? Can anyone tell me how... new to forum ???

:dunno: Can anyone please tell me how to post a question ???
I know we have done this before (in our other forum life), but on the round trip to San Predo for our cruise, about 4 hours each way, the only XLR we saw was Bob's. (I love Bob's windscreen):wave::wave:

We have been watching "Sons of Anarchy", (it makes us feel like we are taking a walk "on the wild side") and Katey Segal drives a black XLR-V, its nice to see one on TV. :D:D

Today was a bit disappointing because I had a shot at buying a 2007 XLR V in Xenon Blue but unfortunately it was previously sold last night
before I was aware it was available. Unfortunately, the sale was finalized today and I have no other options to obtain the vehicle…..

Just another example of how awesome these cars are…...

We wouldn't be, but if you're going to have a big sign like that in your yard, I'm not sure I'd take any chances ... :rocket:

Wasn't us or the people that got your V near us! - that blue XLR wasn't a V.

Although I am confused as to how you had a shot at buying a car that was sold before you knew it was available? But glad to see you've realized the errors of your ways with that slow white car - you need to try red!

Friday evening I saw this posting from a dealership only 40 miles from me but it was already closed:

Cars for Sale: 2007 Cadillac XLR V in Lakeland, FL 33813: Convertible Details - 381313415 - AutoTrader.com

In the morning I got this message:

Hello Steve, Thank you for your interest in the 2007 Cadillac XLR. This vehicle was sold last night but we do have several similar vehicles that you may be interested in.

As you previously observed, if its anything other than those red, black, or silver Vs they go really quickly. This was sold the first day within hours.

Steve

Around 130 pm on the south side of Jacksonville. Saw a silver or light grey. The driver I think was toying with me. Or he was from the nearby Cloude Nolan Cadillac on south side and gate pkwy. I saw him so I turned around when I could. It was about 1000 ft before I could. Then when I was halfway down the road I noticed he also turned around. So I did the same but by the time I headed back up to south side. He already either turned into the dealerships or somewhere else. Because I lost him.

BOO!

Saw this one today but it appears to be a fake "V" - not only are the badges reversed but they forgot to switch to a V exhaust - or maybe they're extra stealthy & switched to a base exhaust!

fake V

That has been done before, Hans in Germany put all the badges on his 04, he bought my stock rims from my 06-V and I shipped them to him, only thing he didn't have was the raised cowling hood, but he could run on the autobahn at 75, our V's here have top of only 158mph. Saw I 69 mustang at a Saturday show & tell that was missing cobra emblems on nose of front fender. He had a 428 ram-air and said it was a true Cobra jet, now I have my doubts unless he restored it.

Three in two days

I saw three XLRs in two days.

Wednesday, I saw one in Gold Mist on a dealer's lot in either North Raleigh or Wake Forest. Not five minutes later, my assistant and I spotted a black one heading north in front of us on NC 1. I believe it was an 04 or 05.

Thursday, I saw a silver one heading north on US 321 going through Bowling Green, SC.

Of course, I was in my Tahoe both days, so no "mutual recognition".

Cars and Coffee - Irvine, CA - Wheeler Dealers

In southern California, we have weekly events called "Cars and Coffee" where local car enthusiasts gather to show off their cars, and gawk at others. There are usually about 200+ cars that show up at 6 AM for the rendezvous.

There are a handful of us XLR'ians that try to have a lineup of our cars at this regular Saturday event - usually in the Corvette area. Today, we had 4 XLR's represented, including a few form this board - Dennis93coup, ODTEKMAN and myself [PAK XLR8] and one other.

The surprise today was that the main character from the TV show "Wheeler Dealers", Mike Brewer, was at the show to make one of his famous purchases at the show. He was a bit tight lipped about which car he was after, but it will probably be in one of his future shows (it wasn't one of our XLR's). I got a chance to meet with him and talk to him a bit and shake his hand, which was fun

While this is not really a "random" sighting of XLR's, because we plan to attend and show off in our lineup, it is always fun to get together with our local kin and to see some of the celebrities who show up (like Chip Foose and others). We get to see XLR's on a regular basis...

If anyone in the LA area wants to join the foray, and get in the lineup, send me a PM, I'll give you the details. (Standby V attended once, but he said it was too early for his liking!)

Elwood is dyslexic like me, that why my badges are swapped.:laugh:

Saw a silver base yesterday at Gateway's Black Sunday.

Black Sunday is the annual drag racing extravaganza that the United Black Drag Racers Association (UBDRA) has been hosting for over a decade. Every September, hundreds of race cars and thousands of fans descend on Gateway International Raceway (just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis) for three days of speed that begin on Friday and end on Sunday. It’s the largest drag racing event hosted by an African-American organization.

Nobody around the car wanted to introduce me to the owner, so I had to walk all the way around the track, get ELWOOD, and come back revving. The owner showed up quick then.... and about 50 of his friends. ;) I gave him an XLR-NET card, but he drives it very little.
