It's way too quiet around here ... makes one wonder. :dunno:

I know the weather is beautiful all across the States right now ... and it's vacation time .... where y'all at ...... and what are you doing??? :blinzel:

We're trying to deal with the heat and humity.
It is supposed to be a little cooler tomorrow for the Brickyard 400.

We had kind of a quiet day (after several days of nasty storms). We had a little furry "guest" with us for a couple of hours... someone needing to find a good home for a 4 yo Siberian Husky. We took him for a spell to see if we might be a good fit with him. I didn't think I was ready for a new dog, so soon after putting mine down in May - but this one needs a good home. :dunno: Tomorrow should be another quiet day - after church. Supposed to be nice and cooler - probably need to get the XLR washed. :rocker:

Tomorrow we'll be spending at a lake with friends with our boat... supposed to be 95 so should be a relaxing day. Good friends, good wine, great weather... on the lake... what more could a person ask for!!

It's supposed to be around 100 degrees in the Reno area today so we have taken the family up to Incline beach on Lake Tahoe where we are relaxing on the sand, watching the kids play in the water, and sipping a cocktail. The temp at the lake is in the high 70's to very low 80's which is so much more pleasant. Additionally, the Lake is very cold so we can cool off from tome to time.

It's uncommonly nice for this time of the year ... usually by this time the heat is killer - but we have only had a couple of hot days, and then they went away and it is more like June .... almost scary ....

Ray did all of his yardwork (such as it is) .... I've been trying to figure out a way to organize my office - I have way too much junk. I keep tripping over the doggie as everytime I stop moving he lays down and tries to go to sleep ... he is driving me :willy_nilly: - I have the TV on and watched the Brickyard and wondered if any of the MM's were there .... Now I'm bored .... I think I'll take a .

I finally have the new grille in. Unfortunately, I haven't driven it in over a week, since I've been recovering from surgery. I can't wait to wash it today and DRIVE.......!:D

WELCOME BACK, Kathi! We've missed you. Glad you are feeling better and recovering. :blinzel:

Lets see some pics of the new grill!

Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the minutia of information needed for anything government related ... 'Ever tried to get a human voice for SS or the DMV? Instead of pressing "1" for English, I'd just like someone to answer THE DAMN PHONE!

Marc T dropped off his DTS today & Julie C stopped by with her beautiful '09 XLR. It was great to see both of them (neither of them brought Long's). I really enjoyed the test drive of Julie's XLR...what a great driving car! It sure is fun having all of these Cadillacs to work on.:)

And you were visited/called how many times by the Census? :pat:

Yeah ..... I should have told THEM to press "1" .... oh, no, better not .... I live in Cali .... you know, where press "2" is probably used more frequently..:squint:

I might need to find some time to pay an INDY visit to my cousin Alan. My DTX needs to have the fuel level sensor unit replaced (and now the check engine light is on). You did such a fantastic job on the XLR brakes... and its always a pleasure seeing you, Bruce. We'll see what I can figure out.

Have a great weekend everyone :rocker: Happy Trails and be safe.

We are doing very mundane "stuff" this weekend .... passport app's, animal errands .... you know, all the stuff you just keep putting off ...:o

Maybe Sunday afternoon we can sneak in a little casino time ... :naughty:

Have fun!

My husband (the wholesaler) bought a cute little red MR2 at the auction, mint condition, for me to drive as a spare whenever my car goes into the shop. Oops. It's not an automatic. Guess who's going to have fun learning to drive that! The last time I drove one, it rolled out of the garage and into the field. What a shock to wake up in the morning, and your car is not in the garage!

You make me laugh ... ;)

At least it didn't take the garage door with it! :bash:

Little Nash Ramble song - I love it!

I'm not sure how many of you remember the Little Nash Rambler song by Allan Sherman (I listen to the oldies station a lot - at work)...

What a great song. :chuckle

Favorite line: "I'll show him that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn."

Yesterday Jean and I took a trip over to Phoenix to pick up a cat. We had a chance to meet up with Jetboy and have lunch. He brought his XLR and it still looks new.
