Daily Chat

Either this is great or annoying. When attending car shows your ride gets littered with fliers. So I thought I'd post this particular one here on the site. I hope rob doesn't get mad. But it's down in palatka on March 7 (1st sat of March). Contact Paula kash at 904-571-4956 or bob cox at 904-284-5303. It's the azalea festival 16th annual car show in palatka Florida.

. Preregistration is 15.00 before March 1st or 20.00 day of show. Antiques customs and special interest rides.

Little Beauty in the spotlight!

Mike found this on eBay & it's pretty neat, with LED lights. Meanwhile, big Beauty is still wheel-less & on jack stands - apparently I'm being subjected to a version of "Overhaulin" as Mike is having some surprise thing done to my wheels & they still aren't ready yet. Between major oil leak repairs, tire replacement & this, she's been out of action for a long time & I'm going to feel like Rod/MT Rocket when I finally get to drive her again!

Well I have started a big project. So far it's not what I thought. So I guess I need more help. 2 boxes were not enough. Ugg the store where I purchased only has I think around 5 boxes left. Have to figure a new way to design what I want

What are you doing? Can't tell from the picture. :dunno::dunno:

I'm in the midst of putting down those rubber interlocking garage floor tiles. I think I got over my head and didn't realize how many were in a box. I think I'll need 15 boxes to finish the whole garage.

A friend of ours got a new Infiniti hard top convertible that I was interested in checking out compared to our hard top operation. Since it was raining I only got to flip through the manual & didn't see it work. The set up is the same as regards using a partition to keep stuff out from where the top stows, & the top won't operate if that's not in place. The owner's manual also said don't operate it off the battery, in wind (specifically said it might blow off ), or under 32 degrees. Like our cars it said to always finish the up/down cycle all the way through, & if you ran it up & down repeatedly it might stop working briefly to keep the motor from overheating.

Interestingly, although I have seen criticism of our cars for this, the Infiniti has to be stopped and in park for the top to work, & it takes about 30 seconds to operate. I guess the difference is it's a Japanese/foreign so that makes it all ok. :(

Looks like from the the basic top operation that over the last 10 years the technology really haven't changed ...

Well, so far here is 9 boxes of the interlocking garage tiles. I started this project last week and as for now I'm at the halfway point of the garage. 9 boxes total so far. I like to me this dresses up the garage. But oh the back ache I'll probably feel tomorrow and oh did I mention the knees.

I saw this & thought Gizmo could use the bumper skirts so he won't kick so many rocks on the competition behind him!:laugh:

Actually I've never seen these on anything other than UPS tractor trailers. :dunno:

Is that the correct way to say YUCK: To click Dislike?

Liquid Amethyst

I never realized that Liquid Amethyst was such a rare color! There were only 9 of the 2007 cars built in that color and no V's.

I like them, I generally like purple, a bit of a 'girl thing' (like pink is, but I would wear purple first) but it does not suit many cars. Looks cool on old Merc's etc but most cars look way too radical in purple. I like it on the XLR. I am guessing many will disagree with me on this as hardly anyone opted for that color option. Not big on the RV dust/stone curtain though: to each his own..

BTW: I was reading my horoscope the other day and as an Aquarian it stated that I 'would never be confused with someone who was overly diplomatic!' No kidding eh! Speaking of 'eh' did you notice that I spelled the word 'color' the USA way not the correct way 'colour' like the rest of the civilized world.

Just sayin'

........perhaps this should have been posted in the humour section?

Too much drag, I'm trying to streamline mine.

Is it just me or is one of s exhaust pipes waay off line.:squint:

I thought that too at first. I think it might be a tube cover on a trailer hitch.

Did you see the lights on the mudflaps? How about the tape added to the wheels? Combined with the wing it is really custom.

Are you sure? I'm reading 38 in 2007 and 9 in 2008.

You are better at finding that stuff Fred. That makes better sense as I have seen a purple one at least twice in different areas: what would be the chance of that if there were only 9. :pat:

I am operating on 'low' today, hosted a Christmas party last night that went too late for this old broad.

I know you feel jipped now Fred - spending all that time & money on a custom paint job when you could have just done ... that. :chuckle

I like the color, just not much else. I too thought one of the exhausts was knocked out of line. Maybe if it's a tow hitch he thinks he IS a tractor trailer.

I just about need to click "dislike" for my own post.

By the way, although you spelled color right in your other post, you still misspelled humor. :patriot: Aren't you in Fla. by now? Need to switch to Yankee spelling if you are!

Uh Oh. Hope you feel better. I used to party for 3 days and might feel bad the next. Now one good night takes days to recover. It sucks to get old.
