Help! C6 wheels

well after looking really close at the C6 wheels (including mounting on my XLR), I've actually decided to go another route and get custom wheels. Yesterday I ordered a set of custom 3-piece Forgeline wheels (18x8.5 front/19x10 rear) with BFG G Force Sport tires (255/45/18 front & 285/35/19 rear). The wheels are going to be done with Forgeline's new "transparent smoke" finish which I think is going to look amazing against the Thunder grey paint. 5 weeks for delivery, so its a bit of a wait but I think it will be worth it. So excited!

Any news regarding the ordered Forgeline wheels? Enquiring minds would like to know. ;) I too have a set of custom wheels but are HRE 543R 19/20 (from a totaled Corvette). The sizes are: 19x9.5 and 20x11 thus I will have to get inners.

I was about to test fit the wheels on my 2007 XLR, but the Cadillac service department stated if I removed the wheels for test fitting the on board computer would need resetting. Is this true? Also, they stated that the battery life for the sensors is 5 years. Well, I guess I'm pushing the envelope, because the car is nearly 6 yrs old. The cost of the sensors is $109.06 so I guess it's best to get new ones, but for the new wheels.</SPAN>

You can certainly remove your wheels without having to do anything. Now if you change overall diameter of tires your gonna put on then yes you will have to get your speedo recalibrated. If the batt. Life of the tp sensors is five years I must be lucky I have original tires and sensors and my car is a 04. :dunno:

Thanks Stella.:) I'm in touch with HRE and they're waiting on my measurements. Currently, the rear HRE 20" has a 285/30/20 and they belive I'll need new inners (more like 7" instead of 8" back spacing), but maybe not for the fronts. We'll try 255/45/19 fronts. I'm sending the wheels directly to HRE for TPS placment and tires. When I bought the XLR I wasn't looking for "brandy wine" (found out the color is called Infrared), but black or silver. Once I rolled the black HRE next to the XLR-I was sold!

The current wheels are nice (Bremmer 19" black chrome) 255/50/19 on all corners and appears to be pushed out to the outer lip of the fender in the rear. I like the Bremmer's, but the HRE high end wheels matches the XLR. I'll keep the Bremmer's as "winter wheels. The service department stated the cost for reprogramming TPS is $35. I've read here that others members using the Corvette set-up had minor rubbing on the inside of the fender.</SPAN>

Could someone tell me about the black XLR-V on the banner?
