Help! C6 wheels

1BADXLR - I found these wheels/tires locally: CORVETTE C6 WHEELS AND TIRES LIKE NEW 18-19 - British Columbia Tires, Rims For Sale - Kijiji British Columbia Canada. and the sizes are P245/40R18 (front) and P285/35R19 (rear). The rears are a bit wider than yours, think there is any chance they will fit?

Nice wheels for sure, but like i've said I put on the 265 and it still rubbed a little. The 285 wont work if your looking to keep it tucked under the lip of the fender, there is a 3/4" difference between the rear tires,...BUT if you still want to go with that deal, you could always throw a spacer on the wheels.

If putting spacers make sure that you get eccentric hub spacers so it fits the center bore. I wouldn't recommend getting universal cheap spacers. Good question for badxlr how close to the outside of the fender is the 19/10 w79 offset and the 265/35? You think you can stay 265 but a 40 or 45 profile or that will rubb more? Just to be clear badxlr your combo rubbed on the inside not the outer fender edge side. I found a place that has my rim combo but they offer 19/10w79 offset or a 19/9.5w56offset. Wondering if just go with 9.5 to get alittle wider of tire with alittle more profile.

Mine line up with the lip pretty well, I'd get you better pictures of it but im out of the country right now. Heres a link to all the pictures I have if you wanna be the judge.

I wouldn't see why the 40 or 45 profile would be a problem, thats more to deal with the height of the tire. only reason I did what I did was so I could lower it as much as possible without having problems. But those will work. Mine rubbed on the inner fender well "plastic". not the fender lip.
But regardless of the wheel you choose, it wouldnt matter, the fender well will only hold a 265 tire with slight rubbing, unlike the vette which will hold somewhere like 285. You could add spacers to get a wider tire in there, but IMHO I dont like the look of the tire sticking out past the fender.

Thanks badxlr that helps me visualize more of the clearance issues. I don't need the bigger tire just easier to locate with all the vettes around. Thanks again

haven't made up my mind yet. heck, I haven't even decided fully on chrome vs. gun metal vs. black. the only thing I am sure of is that I want to go with staggered wheels.

Gotcha, take your time with it. When I was looking, I almost went with the new Corvette ZR1 wheels, Black would look good with my Xenon blue. But I seen an xlr on cardomain.com with the z06 wheels in chrome. Make sure you throw up some photos when your done though. Good Luck!

I saw a xlr on cars.com that had the chrome zr1 wheels and I don't know if it was the profile of the tires but I could say I didn't like them? The blacked out rims would look good on the grey or even the gray on gray, but as a Harley owner the old saying you can never go wrong with chrome.

I asked the shop to give me a quote on tires (to mount on the C6 wheels), the shop made the following recommendation:

"If we go with a 235/50/18 on the front and a 255/40/19 on the rear we keep the same overall diameter as stock, and won't have any issue's with ABS stability management, or traction control."

I really want to go wider, I think I want to run the same as 1BADXLR with 245/40R18 front & 265/35R19 rear, but I'm wondering if the overall change in diameters would result in the issues the shop suggested above?

Ask the guys at the road course event that I went to and put down the fastest time if I had traction control or ABS issues...

well after looking really close at the C6 wheels (including mounting on my XLR), I've actually decided to go another route and get custom wheels. Yesterday I ordered a set of custom 3-piece Forgeline wheels (18x8.5 front/19x10 rear) with BFG G Force Sport tires (255/45/18 front & 285/35/19 rear). The wheels are going to be done with Forgeline's new "transparent smoke" finish which I think is going to look amazing against the Thunder grey paint. 5 weeks for delivery, so its a bit of a wait but I think it will be worth it. So excited!

What did u end up finding about the c6 wheels after looking closely at them. Do you have any pics of the forgelines that u ended up going with? Are the new wheels the same offset?
