Browsing cars

You asked earlier about the two dc drives. One is obvious on the radio. The other is located on the lower right on he radio where it says "Tilt". Push that button and there should be a factory CD in it.

Yeah run from that one. This is one of the cases where people buy a car stuff some foam behind tge damage and try and make it look better than it is. Id say if you did your own work the parts to fix this one would run 6-8000. Youd have in it close to what you can buy a better one with a clear title. Id stay away from 09 as every unique body part on it is expensive. Unless you buy a perfect one and keep it perfect and dont drive much as these tend to be more investment cars
Also notice he did not lower the top. That can be 1-2000 to repair.its a good color but see a lot of wrong going on with it
Its not hard to get the title in tn. You nust have to show where you got the parts. Ive not did one in some time. What i was really talking about was someone selling a car ready to go all repaired and inspected that had minor damage being a good car if you bjy it right. A lot of these cars had minor damage insurance would total jt but the owner would keep it, repair and drive it for several years but now wants to sell it.

Ah, I think I'm with you now! But I don't think I've run across a single one like that. I'd expect that type to be on a rebuilt title, and I haven't seen that anywhere.

Just musing a little here. This is the cheapest one I can find that's not salvage, etc., and it really doesn't seem bad. I'm tempted to just take a flyer on it. If it proved to be a dog, I could still probably sell it for something, and I wouldn't be out too much.

Thanks for the info! I've seen a system that does that somewhere before, i think.

I'm surprised that I often see a recall note in these ads. Why in the world would there still be recalls out on cars this old?? Did the owners just not pay attention?

Well, apparently you are right, mickeytee. Somebody called in and put a deposit on it before I could get there. The dealer said they would let me know if the depositor doesn't follow thru.

Oh well--the quest continues!

I really love that Blue Steel color! Acceptable miles, too. I wish this one was a little bit newer.

05 Blue Steel & Shale

Wonder if it would be worth taking a chance on? I think this is the last year before the adaptive lighting came in, so I would think at least headlights would be cheaper.

Anybody got opinions on this one? I've been watching the price drift down from $19,996 to $17,200. It's a two-owner and the last owner kept it 16 years. There's a minor accident on the Carfax.

I can see a few oddities, I think. The headlight washers seem to be missing. It's got the fancy mesh grille, and I'm wondering if that bottom piece doesn't block the radar cruise from working. Odd wheel centers look like Cadillac emblems but aren't. And I think it's riding low in the front. None deal-killsers, but enough to scratch your head a little.

Headlights look aweful.its missing the upper radiator support , headlight washer , looks to be missing front radiatorbduct. Lots of important parts missing on the front that you can see. Who knows what else is missing. front lower grile is oem. Upper is aftermarket and poorly installed as it does not line up with the fenders. Good news is that lower grill is worth 500$ and you can replace it with a factory style for 160. Ive run the mesh and cruise worked fine. Some say it wont work but it has for me. I wish these cars could talk. Days collision on rear in car fax but its also had one in the front. Transmission replaced at 20 some thousand miles? Shift cable? Valve covers? All these should last much longer. looks like an owner with an extended warranty that took it in for any little thing. Lots of service history . if it was 13-14000 might be worth looking at but not at that price. Im not sure of the wheels but they are chrome not polished aluminum.so may be aftermarket.
I love the walk around with the flip flops .

Thanks for the words of wisdom, mickeytee. From everything you say, it does look like there was a front-ender that Carfax missed. So not a good prospect unless the price keeps coming down.

People dont realize there are tons of accidents that carfax never gets. If you run into my car and your insurane pays at a local owned body shop there is a 50% chance it wont get picked up. if it does i can sue for diminished value so insurance companies dont always file so that carfax can pick it up. Not to mention all the single car accidents that people pay for out of pocket
