Anyone on here actually installed one of these? Claims to work with the V dual mode system, & I'm wondering if it really does. Also wondering about sound - found the video but would rather have a real "sound check"

Installed it on Scarlett-V this summer after seeing it at Bloomington Gold. I bit louder than stock with the baffles closed. Much louder with the baffles open than the mild to wild on stock, but it still has drone at highway speeds. Sounds good with the baffles closed on the highway.if you are thinking of getting it for VictorV, call Jim at Southern Car Parts, they have the best price. I'd record a sound clip for you, but Scarlett-V is in hibernation!

This is the face of jealousy:

It is a lot louder than Corsa when WOT, but it has a deeper, more bass idle. I agree with Cubby you want them closed on long trips, the drone is annoying if left opened. Just as soon as I get these headers installed and a tune, I'm getting some of these (then again I've been saying that for over a year now ;)).

Thanks guys! I noticed Scarlet had non-stock exhaust at BG, but thought it was Corsa. Mike wants Corsa on Victor-V (isn't a huge fan of the appearance of the stock), but I've been trying to get him not to do that so to keep the baffle feature (which I like).

Does it work with the "automatic" baffle control or do you need to use Mild to Wild? Mike reminded me the Mild to Wild set up is different for the XLR so the fact this exhaust would work with the factory control on the Corvette didn't mean it would work on the XLR.

Really appreciate the info on drone - that's a key concern, had it with the Shelby & it was awful. Sounds like the drone with baffles open on the Billy Boat exhaust might be comparable to leaving the stock baffles open with Mild to Wild.

The only aftermarket exhaust system other than the Corsa that I've heard that didn't "drone" in Corvettes
was GHL--don't know if their 06-09 Corvette system could be used or not, but it might be worth a call to ask them.

I kept the Mild to Wild remote, to be able to control it. I would assume without it, the system would work the same the stock exhaust works...I think above 3000rpm's the baffles open. The sound of the Corsa's on a V, sound different to me than on the base model. Maybe it's just me, but it didn't sound loud enough.

I have Mild 2 Wild on Victor-V now. So if I install the Billy Boat Fusion Exhaust it will work the same as stock set-up I have now? With the remote?

That is correct, Mike. It will work the same way.

I think a "Mrs. Santa Claus" moment is about to be inflicted on me ... :biggrinsanta:

I did order the Billy Boat Fusion exhaust for Victor so "Mrs. Santa Claus" can work on presenting it to me. :santa454:

Although, I can thank Cubby for being so convincing. :chuckle

It's always nice helping other people spend their money!!:laugh:

It's on Victor & I got to be the first to drive it! :twist: The exhaust looks awesome & has bigger outlets than the Corsa, 4" vs. 3 1/2", & is tucked in more under the bumper. I found it to be quite a bit louder than the Corsa, including at highway cruising speeds, even with the baffles closed. It did help Mike to be able to hear where I was after I took off a few times playing with it & got out of sight from him as he followed.

We both agreed that with the baffles open (using the Mild to Wild) it was obscenely loud & Mike thought it sounded like a race car. However, compared to the factory exhaust there's no reason to leave the baffles open because it's loud enough with them closed.

From my point of view, if you're someone who is on the fence about whether Corsa is too loud, don't go for this one. If not, you can have fun with it.
