Rendezvous IV - San Antonio, TX - May 20-24, 2009

Are you sure it isn't the she devil from Illinois doing it, men ghost don't act that way! Oh wait, it could be Bobo:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle

Marion,
I'm sure it's not the she devil from Illinois and I think I know exactly who it is since this really fits his personality to a T!:chuckle:reddevil HE has messed with all my computers and I have to tap dance around problems in my embroidery software and no one else has ever had the problems I've had with this software. He started out, oh heck, we can discuss this at RIV! :reddevil:chuckle:laugh::reddevil:chuckle:laugh::reddevil:chuckle:laugh:

Hi Ruthie

Add Karen and I to the Gang at the Hampton. I made the reservation tonight. ck in 19th, ck out 24th.

Jean another order for 2 shirts will be in the mail tomorrow.

OK, thank you Whit.

Mt are you and Cindy a for sure? Did she get her boss trained so you guys get to come? Maybe some of us ladies can talk Cindy into getting on here herself.:D
Cindy told her boss yesterday that she is planning on taking off in May during payroll and to plan on doing May's payroll by herself and also to plan on doing March and April's to get ready for May. So, all is going according to Hoyle...
As far as Cindy getting on here herself... she doesn't have the time at her work and we don't have a computer at home. Maybe after RIV, she'll make me get a computer at home????

Tell Cindy to keep it up. It will be great to see you two there. Maybe after Cindy meets all of us, she'll want to get on here. ;)

The only problem I see is knowing FOR SURE in time to order shirts(April 1). Ordering badges won't be a problem, since we'll know by the end of April.

A new guy

I have had my 2005 XLR for a year now and love the car. Can I get more details of the event schedule? You guys sound like a lot of fun and I would like to join in if possible.

FYI for anyone considering Rendezvous IV in SA

Going over the list Ruth Ann is keeping track of for us, I beleive the block of rooms I arranged at the Hampton Inn is full. If anyone is considering attending and is deciding on the Hampton Inn, I suggest contacting them below and tell them you are with the XLR group. Hopefully they will be able to accomodate you with the same rates.

Make sure to contact Gabriel, as he has all the information.

Gabriel Florez, Operations Manager Hampton Inn - Downtown San Antonio, Phone#210-225-8500 Fax#210-229-1598 gabriel.florez@ihrco.com

Looking forward to seeing everyone again in San Antonio!!

Anyone in DFW area?

Right now, Joe and I can't leave until Friday morning for the trip to SA.
Anyone else leaving then, or going through DFW then?
We live near the DFW airport, so we are right in the middle between 35 E & W.
Would love to caravan with others, but hey we will cruise solo too!
Have hotel booked and looking forward to partying in SA!

Check out post #88 above yours .... this guy may be your neighbor! You can send him a PM and see if he might be interested ....

We are looking for someone who is attending the Rendezvous that might know the San Antonio area who would be able to help us set up a "cruise" outside of the city limits ... you know, some XLR alone time to stretch our legs! Anyone????

Fredericksburg is well know for having lots of antique stores, on up the road to Marble Falls is the Marriot @ Horseshoe Bay which would be a great place for lunch, I know the food is good there as I have been there before. Both of these towns are in the famous Hill Country. The road between Austin and Marble Falls is turnie and twistie with lots of hills and pretty scenery. This would make a great day trip up and back. Just a thought.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but Kent can probably tell you that outside the city limits is pretty boring, sagebrush and desert, unless you want to do a cruise on I-37 to Corpus Cristi on the Gulf for lunch and some shrimp and oysters which is 144 miles one way.
We need to have things to do for four days and this would be any easy ride to the Gulf.
Anybody up for it? If yes, Ruthie can put a (G) after their names on the list of potential people going to SA.

Grant, I concure with Ruthie (Lola's Mom) we have had the greatest times going back to Bowling Green for two years now we decided to try a new area, a little closer to home for us west coast people. You have to move on this quickly before all the rooms are gone, don't for get to order you XLR shirts from Jean in Albuquerque, just highlight and print the form to order. I went to the original RI in Albuquerque with only 6 cars and we had the best time ever. RII had about 50 cars in Bowling Green and RIII had almost 100. We took over the city and GM threw out the red carpet for us.:pat: Phew, did it get it all in?

It sounds to me as if most of you folks have never been to San Antonio. One year I flew into Houston, rented a Town Car and drove to Austin to visit my friends there and stayed a while, then drove on down to San Antonio and spent a few days there and then back to Houston. The fields along the entire trip were in full bloom with Blue Bells, Indian Paint Brush (red) and host of other wild flowers. It is not ugly or boring or just sage brush. I really enjoyed the entire drive except for the Town Car, wished I had driven down in my STS.:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle

Compared to most states the topography is boring, at least to me. Why do Texans go to NM for skiing? No mountains in Texas.

Most Texans come to Colorado to ski and we are thinking of passing a law that Texans will have to have passports to come to Colorado, they are not very well liked here as they think they are the only people in the whole wide world. Just like Americans when they go to Europe. A smile and politeness goes a whole lot further than big shot attitudes. Believe me, after owning a motel in a Colorado tourist town for 35 years I know what I am talking about. Going to Corpus would be fun, that is one place I have never been, El Paso makes two but I have pretty well been in all the rest of Texas.

All terrrrrrrific ideas! :blinzel:

I think the huge Midwest group we have would really enjoy any ride that is different from their lush, tree-filled everyday life .... I vote to take them out in the desert and let them puppies play! But I also agree that we need a couple of good destinations ....

Great input :twist::twist: .... I'll do any of it! :rocker:
Anyone else????

We have never been there but we both love the ocean and the fresh seafood sounds great not to mention what our cars would look like with the ocean background. Think of the fantastic pictures. Great Idea!!!:willy_nilly:
