Does this light "time out" if the hood is up for a while??? If so how long does it take?? I watched it for about 5 minutes and it didn't go out

"Battery Run-Down Protection
Your vehicle has a feature to help prevent you from
draining the battery in case the underhood lamp, vanity
mirror lamps, cargo lamps, reading lamps, console
or glove box lamps are accidentally left on or in case
something is plugged into the accessory power outlet or
cigarette lighter. If you leave any of these lamps on,
they will automatically time-out after about 20 minutes.
To reset it, all of the above lamps must be turned
off or the ignition key must be in ON."

What the H?LL is RAP??
That's the awful music darker kids listen too that drives most people insane. Its actually a timer that supposedly times out the courtesy lights. The hood I think is on a switch or a position switch. Most trunk lights go out with a switch on the latch ..Not sure about the xlr

In all honesty, I don’t understand this approach. tloukatis, I’m sure you have knowledge to share and be helpful, rather than rooting out posts going back a year plus so you can tell the OP they’re an idiot. That’s no more productive than the folks who forget to update what solutions they may have found to a problem they posted.

Put your rocks away and play nice. I suspect you’ll just launch a diatribe against me, though. That’s ok, I won’t mind, but I’d just like for this forum to be a decent place to be.

I'm 82 and have forgotten more than that jerk (tioukaitis) will ever know! He is very insecure!

:( WOW! Only took 8 posts from 4 different individuals to tell someone, who doesn't have the aptitude to air up a bicycle tire, how to deal with this "major problem". This guy needs to take a Basic Auto Mechanics Course & bring his Owner's Manual to it. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! :(
No...what is a complete waste of MY time, is coming in here and reading your posts which have about as much useful information as a used diaper. If you don't have anything constructive to add to a thread, then keep your fingers off the keyboard. I'll assume, you have the aptitude to understand my response...
