Help! Stuck in Park for Towing.

Hi All
I suspect the cable connecting the shift assembly and transmission linkage broke on my 2006 XLR. The shifter moves freely with virtually no resistance but the transmission does not engage. The car sits with transmission in Park in a parking garage and needs to be towed for service. The parking spot space is tight and not a whole lot of room to work.

I’m getting a flatbed tow truck from AAA. I’m hoping they have tow skates to set under rear wheels to get it up on the truck. Laying down a path of axle grease for rear wheels to glide on is another option.

Anybody had similar issue with towing, or other ideas that you can share?

I've had ours towed twice. Once when the linkage broke like yours has. Another time the BCM went crazy and couldn't start.
First time AAA sent a roll back truck. All was ok until the shop noticed the wire from one of the wheel sensors had been clipped into by the tow hook tie down. Wrecker service made good on that repair.
Second time AAA (the same wrecker company) came, they used dollies without a problem.
