pic 1 is the RF wheelhouse with electronics attached and clamped in place. 2 is the fiberglass repair to the hood also had to repair the strut mount under the hood. I tried to find a V hood to no evail but the repair was not that bad. 3 is the LF wheelhouse clamped into place. 4 is a better shot of the RF wheelhouse and 5 is the fiberglass repair to the RF door but does not show repair to the hinge area that was cracked and allowed the door to drop about 1 inch when opened that would have been an expensive replacement so I am glad that I was able to repair it. Waiting for a fastener order from GM to finish aligning the front fenders so the adhesive can be applied. GM dealer referred me to a local auto paint store for the adhesive and special applicator gun made by 3M. ROCKY

WOW... brings back memories of when I did mine in '08!! Sounds like you're using the same adhesive as I used...

It seems the last little things that are required to finish up are the worst; those are the things you don't think about during the middle stages of the rebuild...

back to the frame machine

Maybe I am a little anal but after the fit assembly I found the right front rail was about 1/4 inch off probably could have been worked around and the reveals could have been accomplished and the 4 wheel alignment worked but since I have ready access to the frame jig why not make it right ROCKY

Correct... I would get it the frame work as close as possible. Granted, the wheel alignment was able to get completed, but I would guess they had to shim it extensively to get it within specs. My frame work was right on the money, and the alignment shop still had to shim slightly in order to get the alignment within specs.

well had to send her back to the dealer for further work. The drivers door would not open and the top would not cycle completely and some where there was a short so the battery ran down. This was all working before they got it so they are going to fix everything "this time" we shall see. The service tech said he did not know he was supposed check all functions

I believe that would be the advisers job to write down all your concerns that you discussed with him, so with that said, I think you should have a talk with your sleepy adviser. Who wants to keep dragging their car in because they don't do their job right. Time is valuable to everyone.

Ah, yes; Southern California. Where I got a ticket Thursday for passing some flat-lander who couldn't start to drive mountain roads. After following this fool for some 12 miles, on Hwy 79 out of Temeculah, I finally got a half-mile straight section w/ no traffic, so I "jumped" him (like checkers). This guy had been driving low 40's on every curve, then getting up to 60 mph on the straights; he routinely crossed the center line on left turns, and kicked up rocks on the right ones. Half-way thru the pass, I went by a Sheriff who decided I was going too fast, so he ticketed ME, and let the moron go. That "driver" had a string of cars backed up behind him, ignored every turnout, and was a danger to all concerned, but I got the ticket. Just gotta love SoCal cop thinking.

But, it WAS beautiful top-down weather. California would be such a great place, if only they got rid of the flat-landers, the cops and the politicians, etc.,.

Wow, wait a minute. You have the same people you just described in Colorado. The flatlanders would be snow birds up there. The trick is to have a V and you would have been long gone. Was that north 79 towards Winchester or south by Pechanga casino. That city doesn't have an H on the end of its name. I lived for a few years off the 79 north and that's four lanes now, so it must have been south 79. Wait until you get behind some pot head in Colorado and you god folks of Colorado will wish you never voted for the weed. The only winners were the government who gets 25% of sales. With apologies to all for hijacking this thread for a vent, let me answer for the last time.

All mountain states have to put up with flatlanders (def: people who don't drive mountain roads well). Colorado, with no shortage of mountain roads, gets a lot of them from the states to the east. California gets many of them from the cities. I was on the National Ski Patrol for 10 years, in California, so I've seen a zillion of them commuting to the area (Goldmine). BTW, my XLR had plenty of "sac" to jump that fool; just ask the cop. Reread the post, "V".

Now we're into spell-checking "Temecula"???

This travesty happened just west of the junction of Hwy 79 (S) and Hwy 391. The casino is past the other (N) end of Hwy 391, near the junction with Hwy 78.

I would never have been cited for that pass in CO. The obstructor (AKA "fool") would have been ticketed for holding up traffic and refusing to take the turnouts, and for careless driving.

I'm not going to defend the pot laws; I believe them to be really stupid, but the lib's have taken over the legislature in CO, and they're out to do as much damage as they can, while they can. It'll change back in November. We've already gotten rid of 3 State Senators, just this session.

Now, we can get back to Rocky's project.

I too apologies to others for hijacking and truly understand your frustration dealing with SMT (slow moving targets), especially those that think they are the only ones on the road. What ever got you on that highway Tim? Unless you were looking for Julian where they make those great pies, hardly no ones drives the south end of 79 unless they are going for pies. If your ever in this area of the country and feel the need to drive like you stole it over mountain curves, I would suggest #74 west of I-15 at Lake Elsinore and comes out in San Juan Capistrano, this road climbs out at a 5,000 foot elevation to the clouds above and gives you a breath taking view of Lake Elsinore if you dare look out the window. Some say a snake laid out this road with death as it's motive. Run off the road and it's 5,000 feet to your next stop. Trucks climbing out can't stop at the turnouts or they will never get started up the grade again, so we all follow at 5 mph until we hit the summit where they finally pull over. The big challenge is to get on that road on a weekend when the bikers run the gambit from end to end and have no problem passing on a tight curve and just rub their handlebars against your side view mirrors, then the sightseers' are driving at 30 mph just to confuse the whole cluster F#*K.
I used to ski at Vail and Aspen and as John Denver once said, "This is God's country". I drove into Vail one summer and have never forgot the majesty of those mountains, and I'm not a tree hugger but know beauty when I see it. To have a hawk come at you at probably 15 mph while you hold a treat at arms length and have him take it out of your fingers with his talons without even touching your hand is something everyone on this earth should experience before leaving for the happy hunting grounds, and just maybe they would all respect the creatures put on this earth for us to see and not harm. This is why I'm so against pot being legalized. I feel that if you want to do that stuff to your brain in your own house, have at it but keep Colorado pristine and pot off the streets. I wasn't spell checking you about Temecula. Ok, I can't get out of this one, guess I was. God knows I could use some spell checking once in a while, "and that's all I have to say about that."
