Ok it looks like this is one thing that I do need to get in order to get that Vette feeling out of the XLR. Soo what is the best bar to buy?
Any help will be appreciated.:dunno:

Here is the link with the list of parts you need for the rear sway bar:

There are also aftermarket bars by Hotchkis for the XLR. You'll have to search the net for that one. ;)

shaft/swaybar

Looks like the price of all six parts went up a little, but still available through the dealership.
I checked the parts department at two local Cadillac dealerships here in Pittsburgh and got two different prices.
One had a total price of $235.00 and the other , where i usually get parts , gave me a price of $180.00

All parts are to be delivered within three days except the clamps which are seven days delivery. Time didnt matter anyways at this time of the year buy I went ahead and ordered them.

Service estimated a hour to install , approximately $80.00.
I could have my local shop install them for about $50.00, but for $30 bucks difference I feel safer having the dealership do the work.

especially with the torqueing of the parts and pucks, etc

An hour is about right for the install... although I wouldn't have a problem having a local shop do the install. It's a pretty easy job...

Just ordered

Thanks for all the info justordered from GM Parts Direct $166.92 delivered to NM

Just received it.

Well it showed up on the 16th just in time for our first snow fall. I will wait till it warms up a bit maybe this weekend and install. Pretty fast considering the holidays etc and just as ordered no issues at all.

Sway bar

I really appreciate this info. I talked with our dealership parts mgr. that I VERY rarely stump with any parts request, and he wasn't aware the XLR didn't have the rear stabilizer! This is on my short list after the first of the year. Great, helpful, information here!

The V's were the only XLR's to come with the rear sway bar. Any base models that have them were put on after the fact.

Thanks Cubby; My wife was reading this thread, and she said "as long as the car doesn't lose that Cadillac ride quality!" I assured her that it wouldn't!!!( By the way: She is originally from Bloomington Il, and said she doesn't envy your weather right now! :patriot:

Your ride will not be comprimised, it will only make it better for going around the curves faster!! :chuckle:chuckle

I don't think Bloomington has has received as much as us, so far this year. I know they got freezing rain and sleet yesterday. We complain, but it's still nice having four distinct seasons....we just never know when they will be.:lol:
