Outside mirrors

This has been on my "maybe" list of mods for a few months now: Plasmaglow offers side-firing strip LEDs that fit into the mirror housing around the top, outside and bottom. I made an inquiry about this install to my XLR Tech and he said it was too much trouble and too delicate an operation with the electronics housed within the unit. Of course, this individual, who appears to be pretty good, is not a fan of anything non-OEM. He states that mods such as CAI's and aftermarket exhausts will jeopardize the warranty.

Has anyone ever had to remove their mirrors to access the wiring harness? I wouldn't know how to begin. Just curious... thanks!

I have never opened up or seen the wiring harness for our mirrors, with that said I cannot see this being an extreme mod to execute. If I am correct all you would need would be a power source which would be the DRL/Light harness. I liked what I saw on the PlasmaGlow website, and will try to get a little more info from my tech.

It may be worth noting that the XM radio has antennas inside both mirrors (diversity reception)

In the earlier years, the antennas was on the trunk lid and was visible.

I don't know if that will effect your project, but something to consider.
