- My XLR/V(s)
- 2007 Black XLR V, 2005 Black XLR, 2018 XT5 AWD, 2010 Black CTX Wagon AWD
So I decided to shop around for a set of shocks for my XLR (was told I will need them soon).
In comparing these two sites, I found that gmpartsdirect.com was MUCH cheaper than newgmparts.com, for each shock (by about $100 per shock). But when you look at the shipping charges, it is unbelievable.
Cost for a set of (4) shocks as follows:
gmpartdirect.com = $2,075
newgmparts.com = $2,455
shipping:
gmpartsdirect.com = $498 (policy is 24% of cost of item)
newgmparts.com = $59.99 (policy is 10% cost of item, not to
exceed $59.99)
TOTAL:
gmpartsdirect.com = $2,573
newgmparts.com = $2,515
So the moral of the story is - just because the part is much cheaper, you must look at the entire transaction.
