Fred

CMR looks like a very nice place. Stay wherever works for you & Ingrid.

If you decide on the CMR, post the information on the Colorado Hotel thread so that all of the hotel info will be @ the same location.

Bruce

It appears the majority of the MM's have decided to stay at the Hampton Inn. Due to this fact, our bargaining power just went down the drain so I will not be contacting CMR or the Rodeway or any other lodgeing establishments on behalf of the XLR gathering in Colorado for 2010 as without numbers we have no leverage. For those that prefer to stay at CMR I suggest you negotiate your own rate. Too bad this wasn't brought up before I went to all the trouble to actually drive to these establishments and try to get the very best rate possible for everyone. Thanks

So far I believe we are the only ones booked @ the Hampton Inn,so I wouldn't call that a majority. Everyone should find the place that works best for them. It was very nice of you to check into the other hotels, but that was your choice.

Bruce :)

Robert, you did exactly what (and more) than we could have asked anyone to do. You checked out a couple of places and gave us good information to go by and each make our individual (or group) hotel choice. And I thank you for that.

It's true though, what works for some doesn't work for everyone. And that is okay.

The rates at the CMR are variable. Those who want to stay there may meet different criteria if they choose to stay there ... Corporate, Government, Military, AARP, AAA, etc ... it would cost about $250 more to stay there versus the Hampton or The Rodeway.

But, like I said earlier - it doesn't matter to me where someone stays - we have each day to wakeup/meet up and take our rides, go to dinner (and beyond!) .... hang out or whatever. But even in Bowling Green, not everyone went everywhere together.

We agreed early on that we did not want this trip to be an organized trip, but a meeting up of friends and cars - no one wanted to take on the responsibility of the time and efforts it takes to make this a formal trip. Maybe next year. :)

I think where we sleep at night has to quit being the issue, and WHAT we are going to be DOING become the important part.

And we need to move on. :rocker:

Thank you Madam and I agree 100% with you and Bruce. Lets not turn this into an issue. We are not always going to agree on where we should stay. All that matters is we are getting together and we will meet up with one another no matter where we lay our heads. :D

It was very kind of you to look into hotels in the CO Springs area. However, that was your choice. Each individual is free to look for & choose lodging that works best for them. The CMR would not work for us (Bruce & I).

Kathy

I agree where one stays should not effect the trip. As has been said for over a month everyone should stay where they feel good about. There is nothing wrong with the Hampton Inn in fact, they have a very good review and its brand new. I have stayed in Hilton Hampton Inn's many times with Corvette Clubs while traveling and have never had a complaint. Thank you FR for the work you put into this I know it helped others decide the place that best suited there needs. I agree with Ruth Ann we need to move on and plan our activities so we can all get super excited about going to Colorado Springs and drawing other fantastic members to join us in showing off there cars, creating new friendships and just having a really good time together. I know Ingrid and I are looking forward to meeting all of you.:wave::wave::wave:

Very Well Put Speedway. I already am excited about this trip and can not wait to meet all of you that I haven't yet met. :worship:

Indeed, it was my choice to try to find the best place and the best price since I was ASKED to do it. I could have refused the request but since I live in the Springs and owned a motel for 35 years I was happy to try to be helpful. If I had just not done anything I know I would have been criticied. I am glad I was able to check places out and hope some good comes out of it. Now everyone just needs to make their reservations and plan their trip and enjoy my beautiful State.

Thank you for checking out the local hotels. It did help us in making our decision.

Kathy

Thanks for all you did there Foxy!:worship: Ya never know by the time we get this trip all organized Marc and I may be retiring there as your neighbors! Te He! :chuckle We don't care alot where we stay as long as we are with all our wonderful buddies! It's just a place to sleep and get Blinggy to go out and have fun again. So all your work was indeed needed. Everybody has to do what they want, it's just easier that way.;)

For those that have decided where they are staying could you please go to the Colorado Springs Hotel Information and post the Hotel info. That way if others would like to stay there they will have the information. Kathy started the thread with Hampton Inn. This way people can find the infor for hotels quickly with out trying to find it on this thread.
Thank you:D

Has anyone else made a decision yet on their hotel stay for CO?
:dunno:

On our way!

Yes - we finally made our decision and ended up choosing the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. I posted some information under the Colorado Hotel Information thread.

Here is the website: http://www.cheyennemountain.com/Abou...r_location.asp

Be sure to take advantage of the special rates that they offer for different groups.

I think Cadillac Tech and Photo Girl are the only other car, that I see, that has definitely committed to a hotel.

Remember, if you find a different hotel that you prefer to stay at, make sure you post the info. It will help others to make their decision.

Now .... time to plan for the :party!!

That's great news! You should really enjoy your stay there.

Well - I probably would have liked to stay at one of the Cripple Creek Casino hotels ... but, I'd probably never see you guys or the light of day ... ...
This is going to be a really fun vacation -
I am already having packing nightmares ....

Hotels

BTW, did you know that the Hampton Inn and the CMR are only 2.73 miles apart. That's 6 minutes according to Mapquest. It seems like it took longer than that to get from one floor to another at the Hilton in San Antonio. LOL

It doesn't matter where we stay when we are that close.

:beerchug::bar00::party

Can't wait to get the gang together again :grouphug:

Corndog, have you made hotel reservations anywhere?

Kathy

Hotel

Like Homegrown said, I made reservations at the Hampton Inn for May 23-30, 2010.

We have a party room!!

Marion & i have booked a suite at the Hampton Inn. Needed the extra room for portable Phil!!:lol:

We can also use it for pizza night--right Bruce?:blinzel:
