2006 Platinum XLR-V
Hi Everyone!

I'm a lucky owner of a used light platinum 2006 XLR-V that was really cared for by its previous owner, who has shared good things about the XLR net forum :)

May I get some advice on servicing the car in the future? Should I continue servicing the car at the local Cadillac dealership (Armen), or are there any mechanics in the Philadelphia area who would be recommended?

Thanks and I am looking forward to being a part of this forum.

WELCOME!!! Hope you get as much enjoyment out or your XLR as the rest of us on this forum do. Can't help you in the the Philadelphia area but there may be somebody on here that will pipe in. As far as oil changes and the like, I do it myself... that way I know it's done correctly.

 HELLO PA FRIEND
All though we live in South Central PA, Littlestown area which is only 20 minutes from Gettysburg, we are only about 3 hours from each other. To answer your question about maintenance on your beauty, I'd keep in mind the local Cadillac dealership (Armen) should have your maintenance records of what's been done in the past, but I'd also recommend checking to see if they have a certified XLR mechanic, some Cadillac dealers do, but I settled for a GM dealer in Gettysburg for maintenance, but major problems like the convertible top issues, I will run the hour to Frederick Md. or one of the Cadillac area dealers with certified XLR mechanic, I don't use them for regular maintenance because of a time issue, and they won't usually offer a loaner vehicle to get around in, so we end up driving another vehicle there and back for each time for service. Welcome to best XLR forum on the internet. If you got questions about your XLR there is a lot informative people on here that has years of ownership and even some are mechanically inclined on these extremely computerize rides. Check out the upcoming events that go on by the group! Hope to meet at a future event gathering sometime. Enjoy your ride now that "SPRING" is finally breaking here in PA. TOPLESS OF COURSE

Let me chime in here. I have a 06 infrared. The only big issue I've had was a water leak in where the back window seals with the trunk.

Every so often open the trunk or atleast use the emergency trunk key in the rear bumper slot. Pop out the plastic area at the rear bumper. And make sure the key goes in and out with ease. The diagrams I've in closed pertain to the trunk issue some of us xlr owners have had. So just to be on the safe side. Print out and keep handy. Cclarke is a good person here to ask any questions or really anyone here even rob. If you have a problem just post your question here and someone will chime in with a answer.
Again welcome to the net and welcome. You will get a lot of questions and head turns while driving these cars. Some of us have made up cards with this website. So if and when we see another xlr. Then we place them in the window or if we see the owner. Then we mention the site to them.

Enjoy your V! Perfect timing since hopefully spring is finally here. Can't help you on Philly mechanics or techs, but I think Grandaddy has a good idea if you don't have a local XLR tech.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes and tips! :) I really appreciate how fast you all responded, and it's awesome to share a shared appreciation for the beautiful XLR.

Cheers
