New Key Fob interesting problem

Just had something interesting/irritating happen and wanted to share. I ordered a new key fob for my 2004 XLR and took it to the Cadillac dealership for a 30 min set up. While programming the key fob they wiped the memory from the car, and it would not reset. They finally determined the memory module went bad during the programming. $500.00 I convinced them to pay for it with a little help from GM. It turned into a 4 day ordeal. I should get it back on Monday.

Yes i think they should pay for it. Since they were the ones programing it on their end.

They should have just programmed it through the slot un the glove box. When I got a third fob as a backup (driver 1) the tech just used that method and I was good to go.

Great news Wendy FOB was not working so changed the battery then it work a couple of weeks but not all the time then again stopped completely, starting think the FOB went bad, but then got thinking may be It was a almost dead battery. So just put a new one in seems to be ok now!
