Well those are the ultimate in exhaust tips for the XLR. Unfortunately they will not work with the dual mode mufflers on a V. The dual mode V mufflers have two separate pipes exiting from the rear of the muffler. I sure like the looks of that tip tho.

Okay, the exhaust tip and shield is now ordered. For those that might want this modification here's a overview.

Upon reviewing the 2009 Platinum exhaust tips I think it's possible a person could tweak it to fit the XLRV using the 2009 rear fascia. Widening the opening and added material might be all that's needed. Then (maybe?) cutting part of the V- tips so as too fit inside the opening. Mainly, it's the surrounding chrome part that is the desired part. If I had a V I would be exploring this idea. As for making the part from scratch that's a challenge. There's lots of angles and the outer tip is contoured and polished. Well, enough of that for now.

I've just recently had this one made for my Base model - not as "exotic" as the 09 version, but it's an improvement over the stock tips in my opinion. added Cadillac logo in center since in second photo.
It's better looking than the OEM tips. Any pictures of the emblem used? Does yours have a heat shield? I'm headed to the shop to remove the tips now.
Once cut it appears that the 2009 Platinum exhaust tip slips right over the pipe? Hmm? I don't see any connecting parts from the diagram. I haven't gotten under the XLR to see if there's enough pipe (once cut) to fit into the part. If anybody has pictures please post, but I think this is all that is needed is too cut dual tips off leaving just the straight pipe.

you should have about 6-8 inches of tailpipe coming off the muffler before the OEM tips attach. With the type installation your new setup has, it may be that the tailpipe off the muffler will just "float" inside the inlet on the new exhaust. Don't know, just guessing.
