Bob

Hey that was going to be my bedroom for BobFest!:laugh::laugh:

Is this all to do with that basement flood you had? :willy_nilly:

If so, then I guess Gizmo will have to sleep in the trunk of his XLR!:lol::chuckle:laugh::lol::chuckle:laugh:

The flood was a tipping point. It soaked all the carpet and padding so that had to go. It wicked up into the paneling and there was a question of mold so the decision was to replace the paneling.

I took the opportunity to move a wall and replace a door. Of course there is wiring and lighting fixtures to change.

I'm looking at flooring material for the shop room now and have a sample of Racedeck material here for evaluation.

I got the local airshow behind me yesterday. We had a great turnout and everything ran smooth and safely. The pyro set the grass on fire and that added to the "drama". We had anticipated that and had a specific fire crew ready to go. They did a great job and were able to play with all their toys!

Bob

Garden gone yesterday and I'll set up the camp fire. Little by little.

Wow Bob, you are one BUSY guy!!! You sure go to a lot of work for all of us...Thanks so much.:worship:

Bobfest feast was dealt a blow today when I learned that Gary, aka "Coach" of Coaches Cooking Team has fallen seriously ill and is unable to cook for us. I already have a plan B in place and the show will go on! I'm still planning on beef brisket, ribs, chicken, and salmon. It all will be cooked on site.

Bob

Rich,
Thank you for the offer. You are all traveling great distances to be here and hauling food in an XLR is out of the question (unless someone is bringing homegrown brownies! LOL). We'll take care of all that. Loosing Gary is a huge disappointment. I do wish him all the best in his recovery. He sounded quite worried as he cannot walk or lift his arms and there is no diagnosis yet. I contacted a local smokehouse and I had a discussion with them. They will do the cooking here.

We'll be with friends so it will be good no matter what.

Bob

Bob, thanks for the update on Coach. I hope he has a quick recovery...it sounds serious. He will be missed. I'm glad you have "plan B". Thanks for all of your planning & hard work.:worship:

Wow, this is truly starting to sound like I have latched on to the absolute best event to get to know you all at!

I had no idea how seriously Bob & Paula take on 'hosting' was when you said that we all rendevous at Bob's!

:pat: I guess I should have guessed when the event has been renamed to the Bobfest in honour of the hosts! :worship:

Yes, we are limited on how much we can bring in XLR's, but be assured that 'I am your gal' when you want help with anything once I am there!

It totally sounds that Steve & I are in for a seriously memorable experience!
:party

Sandy, You will have a wonderful time! We are looking forward to seeing you guys. Bob & Paula go all out for their guests. We are very lucky to have such great hosts that are willing to take on this BIG event.

Us too. The house is a wreck, drywall being delivered today, carpet Tuesday, swapped BBQ'er yesterday to plan C guy (better, competitive cooker vs a retailer) and more. AAaaahhhhhhhhhh!

Bob - you and Paula are AMAZING!! Its incredible what you are putting yourselves through for us.
PLEASE, PLEASE let us know if there is anything we can do to help. While we cannot bring prepared food down in our XLR's - we can certainly run out to the local grocery store to pick up anything you need - you just let us know what you need us to do. I plan on being down there Thursday evening (maybe with Devin, maybe without him - it depends on if he can "earn" it). But let us know if we can go get ice, beer, soda, chips, potato salad, paper plates, etc.... whatever you may need. :rocker:

Can't wait to see everyone in a couple of weeks.

ME2.......What Dave said

Some of my best times have included sawdust and drywall pieces/mud! Do not stress over it!

Thank you all. Hope to have all in place by the time you arrive. If not, well, we tried our best.

Dave, are you going to do the fun run on Thursday evening? Pfrede is I believe. I will if I can and it concludes with a street party in downtown Effingham

Drywall delayed until Monday now....

I don't know if I will be down there in time ... I'm flying back from San Francisco that Thursday (catching a 6am flight in CA) that lands in Chicago at noon. Depends on whether or not I have to go back home to get Devin, or if I have my car packed before my San Fran trip - and leave directly from the airport. We'll have to see how it pans out in a week or two. :dunno:

My plans have changed and I am now leaving on Friday morning to be there around lunch time. Life is so dynamic.

15.......... :party!

(I wouldn't care if we all brown-bagged it .... but, really, this is a lot of work .... and you are being very generous ... TY in advance)
