My XLR/V(s)
2004 XLR
After searching for a 2004 cai, then getting the wrong volant sent to me I decided to make my own. I'm most concerned with it having as few bends as possible and keeping it in the small confines of the stock intake. Used 4" polished aluminium and am pretty happy with the results. I still need one more 4" coupler to replace the one home made I had to use in front of the MAF. Sounds so much better, hoping to see some hp improvement as well.

Looks great, this is something I have been doing also. My problem is I cannot find a "Y" pipe, as I want to run dual cone filters.

spectre sells a 3" Y connector, but I warn you, trying to run a kit without lots of tight angles and trying to fit it in the little space we have available is no easy feat!

Agreed it is a very tight fit, but I think it can be done. I will check Spectre and see what they have to offer.

NICE!!!! Looks like a prefit from a manufacturer!! How much have you got in it... and how much to make another and send to me??

Thanks for the kind words. Never figured on anybody wanting one, but I could do one for 179 shipped if you wanted one. You would have a limited edition 1 of 2 ! LOL

Is that the Spectre profab kit you used, planning on using that to design my CAI.

it was just spectre bits and pieces i bought individually. I actually set out to do a twin filter set up, but found it would have required smaller tubing and more bends to make it fit. I want it to look nice, but function trumps all.

cool, looks good. I have access to a full machine shop at work, I'm gonna see what I can come up with.

Here is my Spectra setup on the V

The airflow sensor has to be recalibrated to account for the reduced backpressure. Also to slightly lean it out. So the install of the Spectra pipes and retuning the MAS were the only changes and done at the same time. Plots are before and after on the same day.

Thanks... but checked with the wife, she said, "It's fine the way it is..." Oh well... still... let me know how much HP you gain.
