Flatter than ..... on a platter

Well here is one good argument for the run flat tires: you will never find this in the spring!
XLR flat.jpgSitting on the rim :(

Grabbed the 'air pig' from the shop & filled it and it seems to be holding the air. I will run it down to my sons tire shop this week.

We have a bunch of classics I & can't remember when we found a tire this flat in years past in the spring! It must have a good size leak to go this flat!

This is what happens when driving on a nice day. When I pulled in the driveway I walked to the front of the car. And oh my this is what I saw.

guess it's "bug" season.
The windshield isn't as bad as the bumper

Wanted to let you 04-05 owners know that if you want to upgrade to the 2008 fob with slide into the fob trunk key they are programmable to our cars. You will need to have them done with a Tech2 device, they need to completely erase all old fobs then reprogram the new old as you want them, probably your new fob as #1. Also the new fob has buttons that don't work with the 04/05 but still does everything your old fob did. It's just nice to have the key storage inside the fob and always with your fob! You will need to buy one with a blank key stud so the can cut it off your trunk key, I got mine done at a regular locksmith for$5 You still can keep your old #1 fob as spare #3 it just will not work any of your memory 1/2 settings but will start, open doors & trunk! They charge me $60 to do the reprograming. If they tell you it can be done tell them it can be they need to use these above direction. It took me 4 Cadillac dealers that told no before I found my GM maintenance dealer in Gettysburg said they could do it. So don't take no for an answer!
Also rear end was tore out and replace with new type fiction clutch plates for the front wheel hopping and grabbing feel it almost completely gone, I can still feel a little full sharp turns, but that maybe the sticky Michelin Super Sport Tires. A lot of rubber to the pavement on these tires! Still 95% better than what they were! And they relearned the top and no more half way stopping by not cycling to close the trunk! It's been working fine! Another $60

Mother's Day Trip

We took a little day trip last Sunday to Abbeville SC for Mother's Day. On the way, the highway bypasses a former farming community by the name of Mountville. The town has practically disappeared with the exception of a post office and a few old buildings. We took the old road and stopped for a break and a photo opportunity.

Later, while in Abbeville, we stopped for this photo opportunity in front of the Abbeville Opera House. Here is some info about the Opera House.

If you are interested in Civil War history, check out the information about the Burt/Stark Mansion located there.

A very nice day trip for us and Crimson Pearl!

Got a mailing today from a Lincoln dealer saying that their incentives make this "an ideal time to upgrade or exchange your Cadillac XLR-V to a new Lincoln.":laugh::laugh:

I mean, Lincolns are nice but I sure wouldn't consider any of them an "upgrade" to a XLR-V. How they picked that one to suggest "upgrading" is beyond me - we have other, older cars that would better qualify for an "upgrade."

Proabably because you would be moving up to a new car in years, but I'm also sure they think the Lincoln a better car just because they sell them of course! "WRONG" of course! Lol

I agree nothing says class and sporty like the xlr. And a head turner. There's no song that talks about Lincoln, right?

Went to The Olde Mill Rod Run today. Home of Velvet Ice Cream. Beautiful day for a car show. Couldn't stay until the end, but saw a lot of great cars. I also included a picture for you Steeler fans.

Great pics - you guys (& your XLR) look good at the show!

Well the other day I was heading back from the store. I saw briefly a red car. So I thought at first it was a customized Nissan z. But then when I pulled up at the light. It wasn't but it was a Mercedes Amg with a red "soft top". I didn't think they made these cars except in a hardtop convertible. It must be a custom job. Because the top was pretty much the same color to the red car.

Have one other question. Kind of important. But the last couple times that I drove with the ac on. Then pulled into the garage and turned the car off, I've noticed that the fan was still on seconds after the engine was off. Is this normal for our cars?
