I put in some HID 8000K Fog lights. Also the ballasts were mounted in the front bumper behind the black plastic. It did not effect my adaptive cruise control because I avoided the sensor. Here are some pics.

Fogs look good. Time to swap in 8000K headlights to match.

Was kinda hoping someone would jump in on that first ; )

I have related questions that I'll pose under this thread:
Several months ago I upgraded to 6000K headlamps and installed a HID 6000K fog lamp kit. I was happy with the look although the fog lamps were a tinge bluer than the headlights (someone said the reflective housing of the fog lamps may be the cause).

Then... I acquired and installed the Plasmaglow Lightning Eyes LEDs with the dual white/amber imbeds. The white LEDs are much closer to 8000k intensity and is quite noticeable against the 6000k headlight and fogs. No options were available with the Plasmaglow product and it was not identified in their product info which intensity they would most mimmick. It's not an alarming contrast, but I would like the front array to match as much as possible.

I didn't change my headlight ballasts... simply plug and play with OEM equipment. Can I modify my headlight bulbs to 8000k without changing the OEM ballasts?

Can I modify the fog lamp bulbs to 8000k with the existing ballasts that came with the 6000k kit?

Thanks for any input from those of you better acquainted with the electronics involved.

Headlight HID

So can I just put in 6000K bulbs? I dont want my headlights to be as blue as my fogs, but I want a hint of blue. If I can just swap them out with no ballast does anyone know which bulbs i can use for the headlights? Any insight is appreciated.

Yes, the D1S type replacement bulb plugs right in and uses the OEM ballast.

No problem. :naughty:

Thanks! I will be ordering some 6000k head light bulbs now! I think 8000k will be too blue for my taste for headlights. I dont want to get pulled over. Atleast I can turn off the fogs when I want to. Ill put up some more pics once I get them installed.
