2004 Black XLR
Hello fellow XLR lovers. I am new here and I need some advice if someone would be so kind as to share some knowledge with me. I purchased a 2004 XLR in a GAA auction, only able to see it on my computer, I was not present. I bid online, and won. Little did I know what I was going to be faced with once I picked it up. Everything that could be wrong seems to be just that. I literally have not even been able to drive it one single time. Mostly because the only key fob that came with the car was lost a few days after I returned home with the car. Ever since then it's been nothing but a pain in the ass......BUT I LOVE THE CAR A LOT ....so I am keeping it, but need some clear direction with the lost key fob. I purchased a used fob from ebay before researching the underlying issues, and it was unable to be programmed by the local dealer. My questions to the group are; can I replace the 2004 model rcdlr with any other used xlr rcdlr ? Which key fobs do I purchase to match? Can I get the updated and newer Cadillac fobs, or do I need to buy more ridiculously priced used fobs from ebay? Any help understanding the proper direction to go with this is greatly appreciated, thank you.
The things that I have dealt with so far:
- top did not work
- lost the only key to the car
- radio lit up, but no sound
- driver seat does not tilt
- multiple dead batteries
- discovered the car was involved in a front and rear collision
- climate control issues
- lockouts
I am certain there will be more problems once I have a working key. Wish me luck!!
