Problem solved he was able to get to the hot wire on the alternator, hooked a jump box to it and the car came alive.....and all is right with the world (at least for now). Thank you to all who have replied and tried to help.
Went over to my friends house today and tried to get the trunk open, but to no avail:dunno:. He turned the key and I attempted to get the trunk up.....several times. He mentioned to me when he picked the car up earlier in the year, he said the dealer said there was some bumper damaged and that...
Thanks for the speedy response.....please forgive my ignorance but what does IIRC mean? Tomorrow will be a much warmer day (50 degrees vs 17 degrees), so I will try nto help him with it.
A friend of mine owns a 2008 Platinum Edition XLR over the weekend we had a 3 day cold snap....temps dropped to zero. Needless to say his battery is dead. He tried to open the trunk using the bumper valet key to no avail. The owners manual is a bit vague on how to do this. Should the trunk just...
From what I understand, it will not work on a base XLR, The sensor for the "adaptive cruise control" sits behind the plastic lens, on the drivers side. Cadillac XLR V's do not have "adaptive cruise control". On the XLR V the transmission cooler resides in that area, if not mistaken.
Definitely interested in the drivers side sun visor and the the door sill inserts (if you feel like attempting to remove them) and I am interested in the top outer roof skin/panel.
Are the "XLR" sill plates (inserts) in good condition, if so are they available and what would the price be? Also need drivers side sun visor, both door courtesy light lenses. Is the roof panel available? Thanks in advance.
Also check the interior switch, this happened to me awhile back and my tech found out after checking the timing on all the top and trunk sensors. I would retract the top and everything would work correctly except the trunk would not close, but it would close after taking my finger off of the...
I was able to purchase a new OEM GM connector, $75.00 from my local dealership...couldn't believe the price. Found it on Amazon for $32.00 with Prime shipping.

Cubby...I have made the correction in my post. I know what you mean..... wearing boxing gloves to type, that's the reason my post came under the heading "GM Press Release".....lol
Thank you all for responses, they are all much appreciated. The "moulding" is the inside A pillar trim piece, as per Cubby. I was considering using silicone at the back of the connector also.
Thanks to Cubby's help I was able to remove the A pillar mounding and got the new mic installed and tested. Everything worked fine until I reinstalled the moulding, mic now does not work. Removed the moulding and now have noticed that the connector coming in has broken at end where it should...
Tried using OnStar today and it seems that they cannot hear me, also voice recognition is not responding either. Has anyone ever experience this problem. Does the voice recognition and OnStar use the same mic? Called OnStar and they did a software check and I had the operator on the while...
