Hello- A New Owner in Ohio

I am not sure what I have gotten myself into. Always thought the XLR was a car I wanted. I just got a 2008 Vin 00071. No previous owner to help with anything.
So I need help with trying to get the top to go down. I keep getting 'close compartment divider'. I can't seem to position it the way it should be or do I have a sensor issue. I want to see how well top works or doesn't.

There is switch in the slot where that plastic dowel fits into, I can't remember if it's on the left or right side. It sounds like that switch is not making the connection, if you put your finger into the slot you should be able to actuate the switch, you should hear it click. Once you find the switch keep pressing it, maybe spray it with some electrical contact cleaner, that may free it up. Check the owners manual for the correct way to install the divider. Let us know if that works.

Simple fix. The divider was installed wrong. I could not get the dowels to engage. Took the divider out flipped it over and presto it works.
