Need some help and clarification on fault codes P0171/P0174, that points to bank1/bank 2 lean. I have read through all the past threads about this issue. I have a Volant CAI on the car, and it seems to be somewhat common issue. What I am looking for is the exact part number for a GM AC Delco MAF sensor. My local mechanic suggests that a full tune-up is in order at a cost of $2200.00, the local gm dealership wants $3000.00. I figure I would start with the things that I can do myself with some certainty. I will check the manifold/plenum bolts and gaskets, new plugs, check for vacuum leaks, and MAF sensor. I am having a hard time finding the OEM AC Delco MAF sensor part number. Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thats crazy. The manifold bolts are first and the easiest. Look to see that your hoses are all in place and tight on the mass air flow. Ill check the 06 part number for you. Did you just install the volant?. I
Did you oil the filters ? Thats usually the cause if too much oil is put on some of the cai.
usually if everything is attached and manifold tight ckear the codes and drive it After two or three times it will self learn and be fine. Id like to know what they claim to do in a 3000$ tune up. Spark plugs and usually a filter is it. They only replace coils if they show bad.

Mickeytee.....thanks for your response, and I appreciate you looking up the part number. It seems that I cannot find a MAF sensor on any GM parts sight, the only thing I can find is a MAP Sensor, part #19418808.

I'm seeing 12573350, assuming this is a non-V, and of course.... discontinued.

If I may ask two questions - any chance you were given an itemized list of what they include in a tuneup? And your Crossfire, is it a three-pedal one by chance? Those were another vehicle on my shortlist last time I was shopping, ended up with the X instead but still have an interest.

Basically new plugs and coil packs (@$195.00 per pack). My Crossfire was an automatic.

For reference i just installed a set of high performance coiks for 300$ for tge whole set. Id say they are at least twice as good as oem plugs were 55$ installed in less than an hour.

So.....found 3 loose bolts on manifold. Bolts were re-tightened, all other bolts were tight. The OBDII scanner stated MAF sensor is fine. Cleared CHK ENG light, and now I will see if the light comes back. I will change the plugs later in the week, since this maintenance is overdue.

You may find oil on the plugs as the center valve cover gaskets do leak changing them is simple.felpro makes a good one. Gm does not. id give it three shots at resetting if needed. Id say it will learn by then and be fine.
