Help! starting this project

I seem to be blessed. A very good body man who does a lot of work on corvetts has fallen into my life. he came by to look at my project and spotted my 944 Porsche and is picking up the baby and going to do the whole project even the work to remove the salvage title and have it restored to original title condition, a lot of paperwork with spec sheets but better than the rebuilt title I was working toward and all for the little green car. The 944 has a spun #2 bearing and has not run for 10 years an I believe is worth about a grand as a rolling chassi with no rust or body damage but he wants to fix it for his wife and I get the XLR V done for nothing more than my signature on the title WOO HOO

I would buy "toys"... I have always been one to keep the vehicles I purchase as original as possible.

Exactly what I started wishing I could do after we saw the collection of a guy who did that with a particular year of classic Thunderbirds on the Pennsylvania XLR trip ....

Ah yes, if wishes where horses, beggar's could ride, some folks would be happy to just have one of these cars, I feel very fortunate to own the first (Ichiban) V into California in 2006, No just fortunate to have one. I don't understand why you did all those upgrades when you could probably afford a V which has the best of all worlds. Just sayin.

When I started this journey I had pretty much settled on an 04 XLR as that was within my budget...most had been refurbished after frontal wrecks with bags deployed and north of 100,000 miles. I fell very lucky to have found the 06 XLR V with a lot of cosmetic damage no bags deployed no chassi damage and 60,000 miles. Looks like I will end up with about 22K in the car which will be much less than the 04"s I was going to buy. I think that I will own the 4th XLR in San Antonio and the first V. Blessed to have this car in my collection. ROCKY

If you are talking about my upgrades, (1) cost of car plus cost of upgrades is WAY less than the cost of a V, & (2) We also already have a V!

I just thought the T-bird collection was a neat idea, but I'd need that $400 million lottery to compete with that guy!

So now I found out that the front cover I have is a base model any help in locating a V model that has all the parts back to the rebar....and yes I have a base model cover in pristeen condition (raven black) for sale nowRocky

What say Yeeee? BTW, what do you mean by a front cover, could I assume you mean the raised hood? and rebar is the frame? As you can see I just buy em, I don't put them together. I'll check So Cal junk yards for ya. We have a lot of accidents out here, but we all get to drive at 85. No that's not the posted speed limit its the norm and there's so many cars on the road, who is the Man going to pull over?
