When I recently purchased the car I went through everything changing fluids, checking everything including all four tire pressures. Not knowing the car and not being able to drive "test" I put 35 all around. Here in Chicago the weather has been amazing and I've been able to drive her a lot earlier then predicted. Well the dic warned that pressures were 42 psi after driven one night so when I got home I hurried and lowered all four tires down to 30 psi. I got that from reading on the forum that it gives the best ride. I drove the car two separate times for distances more than fifty miles apeace and I'm still receiving high tire pressures. The one time after getting the message on the way home I checked as soon as I got it in park and was at 35 psi. I'm good with the 35 after expansion but will the sensors reset? The pain in the butt is trying to get that message off when driving. Shouldn't the reset on dash clear the message off because it keeps coming back even after the tires were lowered? Any info would b appreciated.

I am not sure if the XLR TPMS works that same as my Jeep, but after I got a low pressure reading in the Jeep and adjusted the pressure, it took about 3 days for the system to reset and the warning light to go off on the dash.

I've never been *that* overpressure, but I've seen several instances of underpressure (cold snaps, once a bead leak on a new tire) on both my 2004 and my 2008. In every case, the system has reported correct pressures and no further warnings moments after the problem was corrected.

Untested suggestions: you might try scrolling the dic to each of the tps readings, and holding the reset button for 10-15 seconds. If that failed I'd try disconnecting the battery for a while (remembering that a bunch of settings will be lost and the windows need to be reinitialized).

Thanks I haven't taken out again. Weather like what were having calls for the bike. I'll try going to the individual tire readings and resetting. Disconnecting the battery is definitely a last resort. Thanks for the advice.

I have went around and reset the tire pressure to 32psi. I drove around for a couple hours and got a message that the left rear overinflated 42psi. Thought that was weird because I know I lowered to 32psi. I tried resetting and went through individual readings and they DO NOT reset. When I got home I double checked my reading and they were what I set them at. Question is can you reset the sensor. Have read that taking a magnet and swiping over sensor, or deflating tire then resetting pressure? Any advice would b great!

Maybe your gauge is off. Just a thought. P.S. Tires should always be checked cold.

Thanks Ted my gauge isn't off oh and thanks for the tip I'll have to check at night when it's cold out." I checked before I drove COLD and check when I got home WARM". Their is expansion which I'm not concerned with. :pat:

I thought I would up date everyone that responded to my inquiry. I drove the car about five times after verifying the tire pressure and still was getting a warning that the right rear was over inflated to 42. I thought that maybe the tps was bad from being overinflated. Drove the car yesterday and the warning was off it's registering 36 warm which I'm good with. What's really weird is I had the check engine light on for about a month which I found was from the rear bank o2 sensor which I didn't replace yet. Well when I started and noticed the tire message was gone I also noticed the check engine light is also gone. Seems the car has a mind of it's own? Everything is working good I'm happy!
