Inspections & service contracts

Been thinking about what I'll do when I do find the right car.

Does anybody have a good inspection service to recommend? I've used Lemon Squad, and they haven't won my total confidence. They are good, though, in that they go to the lot (or wherever) to see the car. Dealers usually don't want you to take it away for inspection.

Anybody have experience with a service contract on these cars? Are they available and (somewhat) affordable? I have never used one before, but since the XLR is so complicated, I've been thinking it's worth looking into.

Having a service contract won't help much when over half of the parts for the car aren't available.

Well, yes, there is that. But everybody here has committed themselves to the cause anyway.

Out of curiosity, what is your “right car” you are searching for? They are wonderful cars to drive.

Due to the good advice I've had from the members here, I am shopping for one of the later years, with about 70,000 miles or so, and the fewer previous owners the better.

I want to keep the price in the mid or at least not out of the teens, and I do like bright colors or white.

However, I might take a wild hair and buy something completely different. I've done that before.

(I function as a rational adult in all areas except the automotive.)
