Does the 2006 XLR come standard with HID or Halogen lights? It may seem like a simple question, but I don't know the answer.... :pat:

I've got a guy that is going to put brighter bulbs and smoke the lights in it and he said if it is stock HIDs, we can put in brighter ones, otherwise, we may need a kit.

Any suggestions on what works best????

The Headlights are standard HID bulbs. The fog lights are halogen bulbs (9045's). I upgraded my fog lights to HID (several in the group have gone that route). Hope that helps.

I recently upgraded my bulbs from stock 4300K to 6000K with bulbs that do not require you to change the ballast.

Is it possible to put in a brighter turn signal bulb?

I would be interested in doing the same upgrade... where did you purchase the bulbs, part numbers, etc?

The guy doing mine recommended the following

" www.Ddmtuning.com is where you wanna order the lights from. You want the d1s replacement bulb in whatever Kelvin you prefer and you want the h10 slim ballast kit for your fog lights. Make sure you buy the wire harness for the fog lights which is $12.50 extra. The slim ballast are digital ballast which are actually better then the raptor ballasts. All kits come with a lifetime warranty and they have great customer service. "

I acquired my headlights from V-LEDS (.com)... the SKU is D1S_6K_S for Xenon HID bulbs and they were priced at $69.99 per pair.

The HID fog lamp kit was sourced from OmniXAutoSports (.com) and the item is 9045 HID - Xenon Conversion Kit. It included the two ballasts and a pair of bulbs with wiring harness (most of which was not needed). It was priced at $179.00.

I've had no issue with either product thus far, although I'm now considering increasing the temperature to 8000k to "match" the Plasmaglow Lightning Eyes. I'm told the existing ballasts will work for both the headlights and fog lamps, requiring only bulb changes.

I've had my 10K lights in for almost a year and I really like them. My lights are smoked, so it makes a big difference.
