So my window on drivers side stopped rolling up past the half way point.
Pulled off the panel, popped out the speaker and it appears the window regulator cable is frayed/about to snap.

I cant find a replacement?
Have the correct part numbers and cant find anywhere?
Gm part

Even found the dorman part number, not in stock anywhere?
Emailed dorman directly waiting to hear back.
dorman regulator

Motor works fine.
Everything appears fine except frayed cable at bottom of front rail, just binding on cable.

Is it even possible just to replace or even patch the cable?

Or can anyone find me a regulator for drivers side?

On ebay I found a xlr regulator repair kit.
Has anyone tried? Says many have been bought?
repair kit

Help!

Looks like dozens of passenger side but only one drivers at over 500$. I sent you a pm. There is a company called just regulators in many areas and thats all they do.

Is there a chance the corvette regulator would work?
just swap motors?
Only 1 cable is broken...
The cables must be nearly or exactly the same length and easily available.

Has anyone tried?

If you look st the photos of the repair kits for the xlr and corvette you will see they are not the same. Why not just buy the xlr repair kit

My door panel (grey) corvette door panel (red).

Excluding minor differences the stamping is extremely close.
The motor mounts seem exactly the same as well as bottom rail bolts.

Talking with dorman tech to see what exactly the difference is (precise measurements).
My motor is fine and that would probably need to be swapped but other than that might just line up given there is some adjustability for height, etc...
Also the vette one is available easily and for under $100, lol.

A 1/16 th adjust can cause your window to open inside the car seal instead of outside. In some cases breaking the glass. The xlr widow regulator is the control module. Gm controls the glass by meauring revolutions of the motor and voltage drops to operate properly. When you can get the cable kit thats proven to work for 100$ why would you want to reinvent the wheel . just look at the photos of the two cable kits sold for the vette and the xlr and they are not the same. If they were interchangeable they would have one kit Let us know how how it works out.. When i looked corvette used regulators have sold for 300-500$ US on ebay so that told me they are just expensive as the xlr.
