I replaced the hinge on my XLR because the "pin" on the door was striking the lower part of the "V" on the receiver, on the body, and I was told that the lower hinge was the problem. (that the lower hinge wears out). Well, I installed a new hinge only to find out when I had the old one in my hand, and checked it, that it had NO PLAY IN IT WHATSOEVER!!, the problem was the adjustment of the hinges! My used one only had 26,00+ miles on it when I purchased the car, and now has 29,000 miles on it. It is as tight, and as good as the new one, which I paid $84+ for! I'll sell it for $50+ plus shipping, which should be $10 or less!
