2005 XLR Key fob- Remote Start

My recent purchase of a 2005 XLR (think it is a late 2004) has 2 fobs with it, and both have a "remote start" button on fob (see pic).
Tried this and does not work on either one.
Wondering if this was optional, but I have seen other fobs with cars for sale, and do not have that button.
Any info would be helpful. Find it hard to believe GM would supply a key fob with this button, if car did not have it.
I have newer cars with this feature, and ones that don't, and fobs are different.

Howdy!
That appears to be a later issue Cadillac fob - maybe originally for a STS or such. If you do a Google search for '2005 Cadillac XLR Key fob', you'll see what originally came with the car: marked XLR and lacking a button.

Probably both had to be replaced at one time several years ago, and that is what the dealer used at the time. Just a guess, but obviously not the original fobs.
